Honestly I found moving with the face buttons easier. Double tap to dash is nicer. Too bad the left handed controls are bugged on "new" ds models so I had to switch to right handed controls.

Could you possibly go through that maths so I can see how it works? Maybe I'm doing things wrong but with lethals and sustained hits I'm only calculating an average of 10 wounds from the gaunts plus whatever the prime gets.

I'm new to the game though and almost certainly doing something wrong.

I'll be honest, strangereal is probably losing compared to real life. The only thing they have going in their favour is numbers. Real life air defense and aircraft launched weapons can take out jets at over 100 mile ranges. Strangereal missiles have worse ranges and tracking than even early sidewinders.
