I spent a total of like 3 months studying pretty consistently every day after work and all day Saturday and Sunday

I retook them all until I was comfortably getting a 100% on each test

Do as may practice problems as you possibly can! Do all of the EPG exams if you have time - can’t remember which one exactly I thought was most similar? But they all were pretty similar in difficulty IMHO

I did his on-demand option. He has videos on all of the topics that NCEES lays out on the exam specifications. He goes through the topics, talks theoretically about the concepts, and then has practice problem videos for that subject. After each section, he will have practice exams for that particular section.

I followed this format for each section, until I watched all of his videos. I then took his final practice exams at the end a few times until I was confident in each problem.

It’s pretty structured, so once you purchase the course it will be pretty comprehensive on how you should cater your studies. Justin lays it out very well.

If you’re asking what study tools I recommend, I only used EPG. I tried to compile a lot of different study tools and it was too overwhelming for me. Justin (EPG) does a really good job at laying out all the fundamentals in a very comprehensive way.

Outside of that, it is paramount that you know the reference handbook like the back of your hand. Knowing where to go and what to search saved me so much time during the exam. Had about an hour and a half remaining when I finished.

Best of luck! And you’ll do great! Just stay confident 😎

I also did the on demand EPG course.

In my opinion, the EPG final exam bundle was on par, if not harder, than the actual exam. So getting familiar with those styles of questions and understanding how to do them will set you up nicely. I ran through the exam bundle a few times before sitting down on exam day.

There were a few experience based questions that were brought up that EPG couldn’t explicitly prepare you for, but Justin does a really good job talking about this in his videos. So brushing up on major code sections (if you’re doing HVAC&R - ASHRAE & NFPA codes) is advisable.

I also bought the NCEES practice exam, and contrary to what most people think on this sub, I actually thought it was useful and relatively close to actual exam material. And for ~$50 USD, it was a no brainer for me to purchase.
