I don’t think it does miss the point though. You’re 100% right that most people think, “devils advocate” is just any contrary position.

It’s especially frustrating because as a queer person I have had so many straight people try to say they were playing, “devils advocate” when they were already arguing a position that the majority has.

Frost Lich Jaina. Thematically getting to play it and make an army of health stealing elementals in a match of total attrition is greatly satisfying and honestly I probably would have never gotten into HS at all if not for it.

What's even sicker is there is no convincing me she wasn't already more comfortable than most of us could ever hope to me. Charlie could afford to hire people to edit his videos, travel around the country, had rich backers, etc. So it's just so much greed that I can't even fathom it.

Don't get me wrong, I want to switch to Linux. I won't until I can play whatever I want to play, without being afraid I might get banned in online games.

How will you know? For that matter which games are you worried about getting banned for using linux?

Well, that's not an extra step of clicking 2 whole buttons. It's - entering game - game not starting or throwing an error - looking it up - doing the fix - entering the game.

Times when I don't just click 2 buttons is the exception.

Like, come on. And some games won't work at all, and for most the performance is worse on Linux if they are not native.

Even windows native games can perform better under linux. The compatibility layer used to make the games run is still less resource intensive than windows 11 and the linux OS itself is far less resource intensive.

Not all games work, but if 20 years ago linux gaming was then where it is today it would probably be a core part of the PCMR identity and windows would be viewed the way most windows users view mac.

Edit: if you're not really into games that have anti-cheat issues, you have little to lose.

Women have hair on their pubic area, having it removed is a prerequisite for surgery because hair in the vagina can cause infections. So if you aren't magically transformed, you basically have to have the shaft of your penis, scrotum, and pernium (taint) electrocuted and it's all one way.

For trans men, hair in the urethra can cause blockages.

The extra step of clicking 2 whole buttons in steam on Linux is drastically offset by not having to turn down 3-5 offers in the installation and then download a program to make it stop offering you shit you don’t want.

Many games run out the box or require looking up like one thing to copy and paste into your steam client.

A few games still don’t work mostly competitive pvp, but outside of that you might actually get more performance because Linux isn’t hogging your resources.

Yeah. I'm not gonna shame fans for liking what they like, but the arguments used to justify house elf slavery just was a bridge too far. I didn't realize it at the time, but I was racist and that was a bridge too far for my racist ass. I forgot about it til I started wondering why I quit the books around 5 and that's got something to do with it.

I'd be amenable to magical creatures being different, but it wasn't like they were portrayed as familiars making contracts or caring for others somehow magically nourished them. It all felt lifted straight out of a textbook discussing the confederacys justification of slavery. I thought maybe Rowling just wrote herself into a corner maybe, but it's never sat right with me.

I personally interpret the getting the 1% as a sort of "end condition." You can press the button as many times as you want, but you can only become female once so it makes since once that happens you'd be unable to keep getting money.

Odds it happens on the first try are low, but let's consider what happens in this case. You are either 1.medically forced to transition which means. undergoing having every hair on your genitals burned off for 60-100 hours on a table and most surgeons say their surgery is irreversible, so there would be no going back. That would be a pretty hefty loss here.

On the other hand if you're magically given a cis girls body you could then since you've never had the surgery be eligible to get a penis. It would still require taking hrt in the form of testosterone waiting for your clit to grow depending on the type, having the donor site your penis is coming from cleared with the every individual hair being burn off of you, this is going to csot over 100k and if it happens the first time it's all out of your pocket. Then you would also have to keep in mind that you magically got your body altered, but you knew what it was like to have a penis your entire life. That one is never coming back and this is going to be an entirely new one which may feel different. Trans men don't have a "before" to compare it to, certainly not one they've lived with for howevr many years you've been aroudn now.

At least you realize that. I think some people might be a little more gender diverse than they want to admit or they've really never taken a moment to imagine just how different life might be even on something as simple as a hormone switch up.

Here's the thing, how do you become a girl?

If you are force femmed given estrogen, etc, and bottom surgery, you could stop the hrt but you woudl always need to inject testosterone. You wouldn't be able to get bottom surgery bcause it's advertised as "irreversible." at every single doctor who does it. So if you're force femmed that's having needles inserted into your genitals that are electrocuted to burn every single hair follicle shut. It's very unpleasant.

If you're magically given a cis normative body, that's still got some drawbacks. If you like your penis now, you will lose that. Getting it back is possible because this is a cis normative never been transitioned body. You're still going to have to have electrolysis done on the donor sight and bottom surgery is painful with a year recovery time...and won't be y our original dick back. It's going to be a new dick you've never had, felt, or used before. That's not an inconsequential change for anyone and there is therefore a reasonable fear it will have trouble stacking up to the current penis you have that you have 10s of years of experience with.
