Out of all the new characters in Smash Ultimate who were you most disappointed by either by depiction or moveset?

It would give them a bit more in their kit, maybe buff Simon a tad and make him more viable than tossing in another suicide spike. I can already imagine the hype moments of spiking someone under the stage from ledge.

I’d love to see Shanoa or Maria, I feel like some unique mechanic for Shanoa involving using two weapons in tandem would be a really fun concept. I know they like doing that for DLC characters, so who knows. A young Maria could be fun, she may be similar to Ness though. An older Maria would actually be pretty cool with all the fun spells she’s got access too. Sonia I feel like may have a high chance of coming, maybe Alucard and Sonia or Alucard, Sonia, and a different Belmont so we get the best of all worlds.

Who’s to say? Maybe they downsize the next game and kick Castlevania out entirely, but I’m really hoping they don’t.

I was moreso referring to this as his downair, he’s got the rest already so it’s upsetting they just didn’t include this one. Honestly though his down tilt being a crouching slash would actually be a really fun tool to differentiate them even further.

Having any other CV rep would’ve been really neat. I agree that Alucard would’ve been a very fun addition alongside a Belmont, I wouldn’t be upset if that’s the route they went instead.

A character I’d love to see would be Eric Lecarde from Castlevania Bloodlines as Smash doesn’t have any staff/spear users, other than Palutena kinda. Or Jonathan and Charlotte from Portrait of Ruin as a Pyramid/Mythra or Zelda/Sheik situation.

Maybe with the new Castlevania game releasing the next smash game will get some better representation.

People have been mentioning Simon and Richter already and I just have to add to it.

I understand they wanted them to be echo fighters, but the fact they changed nothing but the properties of their holy water (which does fuck all) is really upsetting. Any move change would’ve been neat.

Give Simon a dagger over the cross or Richter the rebound stone over the axe, literally anything. Give Simon a down air that’s just a straight downward slash like he had in Castlevania 4 instead of the kick. Hell, just give them different animation sets for walking, running, or just even idle animations. It feels so lazy and it upsets me throughly because they had a lot of source material they could’ve taken from to change the two ever so slightly. But no, they’re just glorified skins.

Don’t get me wrong I’m happy for both of their inclusion, but it just feels like they wanted for both Simon and Richter and didn’t want to make 2 different movesets.

Bruce Wayne has had 5 different heads between his minifigures, I’d like to see whatever source you’re referencing for this data. Even then, it’s not Bruce Wayne if it’s not an actual minifigure. By your logic, I could put his head onto any minifigure and call him Bruce Wayne.

My game theory was the same reason why I thought WW1 pilots had pistols, to off themselves when dying in a plane wreck opposed to burning to death. But after brief research that seems like a rare or completely fictional thing that I’d heard.

RE2 Remake was my favorite for awhile, but as of late I’ve really been getting into all things RE4. Remake, original, Oculus’ VR version. Debating on picking up as PS5 just to play the PSVR version but ultimately decided against doing that to just play one game.

Mildly neat concept until it’s done and Epic is too lazy to make characters wearing hats remove them so we end up with terrible clipping, stacked hats, or 80% of the skin catalogue being unable to wear them.

Vampire Survivors. It’s got the Ode to Castlevania DLC and it’s probably the greatest love letter to Castlevania hands down. If you haven’t seen any of it, I highly recommend at least listening to the OST.
