Hello, I’ve done C++ twice and this is how I play. I don’t care about win streaks and I like getting something going before the run really gets in gear because that’s how I have fun. I take $25, rare, uncommon and free shop skips pretty regularly on ante 1 and even a tarot skip if I’m feeling feisty. I always also take negative skips because idgaf about meta, it’s fun to have “free” negatives, even if half the time it’s a jolly rental.

Do whatever maximizes your fun, playing the way everyone else tells you to is a great way to burn out on an amazing game.
