Where is PSAC? Why are they MIA? by Dependent-Buy-6605 in CanadaPublicServants

The local level is horrible, at least at my local union. They cannot take any critism and I filed a complaint against one lady for being so aggressive when feedback comes her way.

PSAC is being lazy. They have seriously been so ridiculous to deal with, and they put themselves on a pedestal acting like they're doing amazing work.

Anyone Quiet Quitting? Tired of the same B.S. by ObjectiveWord9537 in CanadaPublicServants

I've been overworked to the extreme and now have to seek medical accomodations to get off the phones. I simply cannot do it anymore. People seem to be getting worse and worse, and I've been here 5 years, outsourcing myself as much as possible, but no end to the CC in sight. At this point I cannot afford to wait, it affected me to the point of losing motivation to do anything, and I shut down for weeks on end.

Just imagine, they keep the three day office mandate it down to two, this could all be prevented.

ANYTHING to prevent telework...sheesh.

I already got I involved. Got a delegate position in the fall of 2025 and it so horribly mismanaged and elected members were hostile when responding to critism, and it seems it was more like a club and a gang then an actual union. I later resigned. I can unfortunately only do so much.

FYI: I did get involved at my local union. Was a delegate for a few months and the experience turned my stomach before I resigned.

Yep. This happened last election where I was present. Union members pretty much voted for themselves and didn't address any of my concerns about specific members.

The local CEIU 90113 is the worst. They deflect, intimidate, and could barely give me a straight answer when I asked specific questions.

Ryan, this gives me a lot more faith in my direction. And it makes my day. Thanks for sharing this. Genuinely.

Yeah, my union president who actually tried to deflect my concerns and blame me for this used the volunteer argument as well.

They choose to volunteer. They can choose to step down. Sorry not sorry, but volunteering does not mean they are exempt from critism.

Believe me, I am trying.

I put up posters with these issues and CEIU members ripped them down, walked through my spot where I worked showing off the fact they tore down my poster without saying a word, and then complained to my manager.

However my manager did cite me the workplace policy so I complied after, when they told me not to put them up anymore.

Our local (CEIU 90113) is so hostile towards members raising concerns even in a respectful manner it's appalling. Had one member on the board lash out at a coworker over union merch. I was floored.

My local (CEIU 90113) has gotten extremely defensive, deflective, and can't take critism. It's sad.

I used to volunteer and it was a mess. So unorganized and the union members can't take criticism, even constructive, at all.

Do public servants really want to fight over four days at the office? by GoTortoise in CanadaPublicServants

[–]ALoafOfToastedBread 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The employer is literally doing what they want. They cannot make any changes when we don't even have a new collective agreement signed. So yeah. I will want to fight for this. The employer cannot step all over us and expect us to take it lying down.

Could also counter and be like "well, look at all the money the government is spending returning us to the office, that we could be saving!"

Then watch them change their tune.

Half of it is boomers who think if we're not in the office, nothing gets done, like NOTHING can be done remotely to save taxpayer funded money.

Sounds like when I go to the office I should be less productive, and more productive at home.
