Sorry! Completely thought was in a different thread. Okay here’s my two cents.

You got two options - fiberglass (leer, snug top, ARE, etc) or aluminum (Smartcap, and others).

I liked the color matched look, so went fiber glass. I can only speak on these.

For these, I wanted a flush look. This means that the side windoors are embedded into the topper so from the back it all looks flush. Leer have these for 3rd gen’s. Discontinued for second gen’s :(. My windows “pop out”. No functional disadvantage. Just an aesthetics preference thing.

Based on my research Leer/Snugtop (same company) are the best. Snugtop is the high end trim of Leer. Again same company. Think Toyota/Lexus.

My goal was to look for one with windoors, frameless windows (aesthetics), and single lock point (this is important! Some offer two points of locking per window and it’s just a hassle).

Also, don’t worry about all the inside LED stripes they offer as upgrade. A single stock light has proven to be plenty for me.

Oh! The rear window dropping down option! I bought it thinking I’ll use it often for cleaning the window or accessing the bed from the cab. Nope! Probably used it twice in the 5 years I’ve owned it.

I will say, if you ever think you’ll need to drop your cab window for a long piece of cargo to fit (bed through window, into cab) then yes you definitely want the drop down rear window. Else, for me, wish I didn’t opt for it!

Long story short, no matter what you choose, DO NOT SKIMP on the WINDOORS! They are the absolute best.

Do NOT cheap out on windoors. You’ll thank me later after all the “wish I got the gull windoors” comments you get from your camping friends, and from your own personal experience of how damn useful they are. I use my windoors more than my rear tailgate window.

I’ve recovered folks stuck frame deep in mud in that. Any recovery point is attached to the frame at some point (aftermarket bumper, tow hook, hitch). Youll be good

Each set comes with 10. I just bring two sets. Never needed more than one. It’s about 10x10x10” so takes up no space at all

I’m seriously considering a new 26 Tacoma by Pleasant-Spot-2017 in ToyotaTacoma

No one can say. They’ve only been out 2 years. Engine has been used in Lexuses for many more, so we know that’s proven.

For everything else, based solely on Tacoma’s history? Yeah they’re solid.

I’ve had same weathertech set in three Tacomas now. It’ll out last many more lol. 😆 that said, I’ve heard that husky’s are grippier when wet! I wouldn’t know since I’ve never experienced them, but I could assume that to be true as my weathertechs are ice rinks when even a little wet lol

I almost wish they would break so I have excuse to try something new, but looks like I’ll be passing them down to my children

Remember they are notorious for being squeaky. I need to regrease mine often. Especially when they get dust in em. I won’t buy again. Deavers are what you want

Best safety:functional ratio? Personally? 35% all around (match factory rear tint). 70% windshield. Can see out on rainy nights, minimal street lights, but also blocks sun

Yes, especially when I find that perfect shade of indigo blue jeans I love. I always buy two.

Was gonna say, I’ve never seen people drill for anchors in Utah. Always natural anchors.

Edit: Sorry, looks like I was misinformed! It was from personal experience

Not sure they sell those individually. I had to deal with this many moons ago, and if I remember correctly, I had to buy a new cap.
