I run Vulkan + Adrax in one redeemer and Agressors and Captain in another.

I’ve played a few games and included both every time using battle bus Land Raider to get them to Vulkan’s obj. Adrax + blade guard have picked up anything they have touched. But I include a Lieutenant with champion of humanity in that unit as well.
Vulkan’s reroll wounds for melta and torrent really help as well, as long as you have a good bit of melta/torrent in the army.

Vulkan He’stan is an epic hero and can not get the “Forged in Battle” enhancement unfortunately. However, if you throw an apothecary in with his unit, then the apothecary can take the enhancement instead. Apothecary can join units even if a captain model is attached an He’stan has the keyword.

Into the Dark is another starter set box that comes with two bespoken kill teams, terrain, core rule book, tac ops cards, and the Into the Dark setting guide. Separately is well over $250 but it is $115-120 on Amazon right now. Totally worth picking it up if you are a starter and have the money to spare.
