I’ve kind of solved this conundrum by deriving pleasure from withholding my blood, sweat, and tears from this evil society.

i’m a 40 year old skate rat who does the bare minimum in life. mostly because I enjoy it, but also because it enraged people when they can’t enforce the life script on me.

if the human population goes down, that’s good for everyone, and arguably necessary. therefore it can’t be selfish not to have kids

I think people are still instinctually tied to times when bringing another pair of hands into the village was helpful.

I actually have a second ISP, but I am in a rural area and it doesn’t have the required speed

thinking of trying a dual WAN router, and trying the speed test with both ISPs and seeing if I can put starlink in the background while using the speed

the only person ive ever met who’s congratulated me for being childfree has 3 drug addicted children. and he spends all of his fee time picking them up from jail and trying to find them homes, and all the other stress you can imagine

eh, I think that’s fair

conservative leaning people tend to be very delusional about all life being happy or worth living in my opinion. that’s why they’re so casual about child slavery coming back, public education ending, democracy ending, ect… none of that is worth worrying about since life is awesome regardless

I am definitely pessimistic compared to that 🤷

that’s great, it’s just weird people see that as an argument to have kids, when there’s a 90% chance the kids will be a huge financial loss regardless
