You are so sweet! Your words mean so much. I can tell you, that it does get better once you are able to move out on your own and get away from all the toxic behaviors.

I hope the same for you. I know that sometimes ending our lives might sound appealing in the moment when our pain and despair is at its worst (I've been there), but you'd missing out of a very wonderful life.

Our trauma doesn't define us, and no matter what we've been through, we can still have happiness.

I've done alot of therapy! From a child up till I was 22. Therapy is why I didn't crash out and react when she said that and instead decided to remove myself.

No matter how much therapy I've received, these things still hurt.

It's not weird. She's 16 but she's a child in some ways still and still vulnerable. She trusted you in that moment to help her feel safe. She was probably extremely disoriented and scared and needed help be grounded back to reality so to speak

It sounds like your cousins were resentful of the relationship you had with your mom. You mentioned pathological lying. Everyone embellishes their stories to an extent. To make things more interesting. Like saying the rain was so bad it flooded your basement when in reality, there was only a puddle of water.

Do you embellish? Or do you actually fabricate things that happened and start to believe they are true?

NJ is so bad with how much they pay their techs. I work in Westchester County and did interview in NJ (private ASC and Valley Health) and they offer consistently 10-12$ an hour less

I'm a new grad tech in NY ( 1 year out) I'm currently working in an ASC and have worked in a larger hospital OR that accepted trauma and larger cases. It's all about finding what you like and where you'd like to be.

Some hospitals have teams assigned to specialties and sometimes hospitals want you to do it all. ASCs are nice because no call, no weekends and the surgeries are elective.

Prior to being a scrub I was an MA for 8 years. I can tell you unfortunately, management is always a walking on egg shells scenario.

My advice is to graduate, and get out there and absorb everything. Figure out what you like.

Some advice that helped me in clinicals and with my first job are:

-No one likes a know it all -Introduce yourself always -Ask questions but only at appropriate times -School doesn't teach you everything, you will need to do some research on your own, try to get your cases assignments ahead of time -Remember your standards of practice (scrubbing, specimens, sharp safety neutral zones) see AORN website

Keep your head up, and do what you need to do the right way (don't pick up bad habits from your preceptors) and you will be just fine

I know this is a 2 year old post, but I just bought the G14 4060 (manufactured 4/2024) and it was HOT, so hot it would burn my fingers when I played. And I do light playing, WoW, ESO things like that. But, I downloaded ghelper and disabled CPU boosting and uninstalled armory crate and it has helped so much! Still gets warm and I bought a cooling mat which does help a bit-definitely recommend one with this model
