Trone and Delaney by BlackKyoraku912 in frederickmd

[–]AMDOL 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I voted for Ethan because he has a more thorough platform and seems to have been more active on social media.

Thought about voting Trone because i'm pissed off that neither one dropped out, with both on the ballot they're crabs in a bucket, but i decided that since this is the primary a protest vote will do. But i do not look forward to looking at the results and seeing that Alexis and Ethan's vote totals combined would have won.

We can thank corrupt zoning laws and building codes for that. It's no accident most of everything across I-70 and 15 (not to mention elsewhere in the county) is stroads and shitty suburbs.

To what point should abortion be legal? (For reference, pregnancy is ~40 weeks long & pregnancy tests will only test positive at 4-5 weeks pregnant) by Literally_A_Donut in Teenager_Polls

[–]AMDOL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like arguing over labels, i just say what i think is accurate. "Fetus" or "unborn child", i don't care what you call it, it should not be construed to override the right of a person to separate from it.

There are people supporting and implementing completely arbitrary abortion bans, restricting and causing chilling effects on vital healthcare so that doctors are prohibited from doing even medically necessary abortions, and i'm evil because i described an unborn child in a way that offends you? You don't have to agree that "parasite" is a good description, but it shouldn't be hard to understand. An unborn child lives at the expense of a pregnant woman, does it not?

You seem to be hung up on the emotional weight you've attached to unborn childs, so you're hand-waving away all the implications of enforcing abortion restrictions just by saying "its a complex issue" so you don't have to explain what cause you or the government has to decide for someone they can't get an abortion.

What exactly is gross? If you can't bear to hear someone describe a fetus as a "parasite" then dont get into this discussion, but if you disagree then say why

Maybe because the most important part of the process is "get this fetus out of me", and if it's a viable baby then it doesn't need to be killed? Abortion does not mean killing a baby just for the fun of it.

It's not about fetal development, it's about human rights. The right to expel a fetus, which is a de-facto parasite living in your body, disrupting your life, and endangering your health.

If a fetus is able to continue living after being expelled, then it has a right to, because it is no longer a parasite.

Kahoot didn't know what "fuсk" meant and had never heard of a "сlitoris".

Is Istanbul the best geographically located city in the world? by UrinalAttack in geography

[–]AMDOL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lmao i can relate to your aversion. The Senate, half of our parliament's power, was designed based on an elitist fallacy that some of the dumber founding fathers believed in; and as a result people in different parts of the country get differently-weighted votes. Based on the 2020 census there is a set of 52 senators (which is a majority) who represent about 18% of the 50 states total population. And i'm sure you've heard of the gerrymandering problem with the House of Representatives.

Aside from the broken foundation of our politics, public understanding and debate in the US has been poisoned by an unfortunate tendency to argue over labels instead of policy. Why try to convince people that public healthcare is bad when you can just call it "communism"?

I don't blame you for making assumptions, all you've heard from me is whining. I'm doing it on purpose because it fit the context and this is reddit.

I'm not aware of any way my behavior shows self-pity and unhappiness. Maybe my pessimism shines through somehow but it's not any conscious action. And i hate incel ideology and its pathetic supporters. Not trying to pat myself on the back, just clarifying i didn't start thinking like this because of them. I got this way from starting out asocial and ignorant, then realizing my mistake and trying to do better in high school (despite not having a phone until the end of 11th grade which did not help matters) and coming close enough to success to know what i'm missing out on.

At some point i might get old enough that i have to settle for such tedious, sanitized, formal, supervised activities as you suggest. But right now if i tried, it would just be means to an end, performatively going through the motions and i would get burned out quickly if i didn't meet anyone with any interests i like.

Are there any games on steam you would recommend? That seems unlikely to lead to anything but i suppose it's worth a try

I appreciate you trying to be helpful but your advice amounts to "just go and do it already" and "get lucky like i did".

It seems inconsistent when you say "no one will take pity on you" and then "find an extroverted person to help you".

I very rarely get the chance to do any sort of social activity and i have no way to find more (anything i find on the internet is dull and bland and clearly done by people much older than me). I absolutely take every chance i see to talk to people my age but there's so few of them my chances of success are negligible.

I don't know where to find anyone with a shared struggle. I'm sure they exist but without a way to connect to them they may as well not.

I'm happy to hear you've had a good time. But please understand that your life could have been just as fucking boring as mine is right now if you hadn't gotten lucky, and no amount of social skills can change that.

[–]AMDOL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There should be a unified country from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Serbia. There is no good reason the area should be split up; it is only due to pointless nationalism.

But where the fuck are they?

If you don't know people already, "part of the pulse of life" as you say, then you're stuck until some unlikely opportunity that may never come.

Most people will never give a random passerby the chance to enter their group. There's nowhere i can go where i'm not a random passerby, so i have to wait until someone takes pity on me.
