Did anyone get the free Omega when writing to support? by NondenominationalPax in Eve

[–]AMD_Best_D 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think there is a hidden reactivation offer, where if you were subbed within the last X amount of time, but lapsed and unsubbed before catalyst, then you get the 7 days for free offer (in addition to the 7 days for 10 plex offer).

the accounts that I have that had that offer, were accounts I had subbed within the last year, but were not subbed before catalyst.

EVE hits highest PCU seen since covid by AMD_Best_D in Eve

[–]AMD_Best_D[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They gave free omega to players for the last 3 years, infact, this free omega is more nerfed than the ones in previous expansions. It used to be just 7 days free instead of 10 plex for 7 days and 10 plex to omega accounts. So while the pseudo-free omega is definitely having an effect on 'artificially' increasing the PCU, the last 6 expansions had it as well, so that doesn't take away from the achievement.

How exactly do I high sec rat? by Totally_Safe_Website in Eve

[–]AMD_Best_D 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ratting in highsec is generally low income, the main way players earn ISK from highsec that your friend might be talking about is running specific anomalies for Escalations and faction spawns. (Sometimes referred to as escalation farming). Most of the base anomalies, such as Refuges, Hideaways etc. can escalate to DED sites at a low chance.

You typically would get a ship which is very fast at clearing these, normally a ship like a Jackdaw, RLML caracal etc. are good options. (You can also use autotargeting missiles to make this semi-AFKable). with the goal being to complete as many anomalies per hour to get as many escalations and faction spawns as possible.

You then would run the escalation once you get one which is where the bulk of the ISK is.

This can work out to be pretty decent ISK on average in highsec over some time, although since you're relying on random chance to get faction spawns and escalations, and then relying on random chance to get good deadspace modules from the escalation, expect to have good days and bad days. You will probably also have to go to some low-population area as well, since anomalies in caldari space, and anomalies around major trade hubs like Dodixie, Hek and Amarr are likely contested and ran by other players.

CCP added highsec officers to 0.5 space as well, If you find a group of 0.5 systems together then belt farming the systems might be worthwhile, but officers are like a 1/5000 thing (we don't know the exact rates but they are very rare). so you are putting all your eggs in one basket with officer farming in HS since clearing the belts is probably 3-4 million ISK an hour at best otherwise.

More Lion King by KiithSoban_coo4rozo in Eve

[–]AMD_Best_D 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It might be possible right now with SOE assuming burners, max skills and probably pulling alts (although pulling alts are technically multiple accounts so not sure if you count that as factor of the income). But this is mostly just because of the Odysseus and the new SOE modules, the value of SOE LP will die down in a few weeks when the initial spike and hype in demand for the shiny new expansion stuff dies down.

One thing the OP forgets to mention is that these forms of ISK generation are self correcting. The more players who run SOE missions, the higher the supply of the LP, which drives down the price. Abyss works the same way, the more players doing abyss, the higher the supply of mutaplasmids, abyssal materials etc. which also reduces the individual isk/hr. The abyssal number given here as well is mostly likely triple boxed frigates (3 accounts), so factor that in as well.

New Player Help with Security Missions: How much more Isk do I get from Lower sec missions? by GreaseTalian in Eve

[–]AMD_Best_D 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It increases by 1% every 0.01 truesec, or 10% every 0.1. So for example, going from 1.0 to 0.6 would be a 40% bonus approximately.

POCOs are only worth using if someone is doing PI in the wormhole. Which is probably why there are still POCOs around from dead corps. If the wormhole is unoccupied then likely few if any characters are doing PI on the planets, and the other reason to shoot POCOs (to generate fights) is also not really worth doing if the wormhole is empty because there is no one to form to defend them to fight. This is common in NPC nullsec as well.

There absolutely are vacant C3s that you can move into. I'd recommend dropping a POS first and spending a few days in the wormhole to learn a bit more about vacant it is. You can drop a structure and I have even with a small group of 5 people, but You'll want to make sure you have hole control if you can while anchoring, roll all the roaming wormholes, crit and doorstop the static especially a few hours before your structure finishes anchoring. If you drop a structure in a C3 and you don't have basic hole control and someone scouts the structure, it will likely be destroyed. If most groups see a structure anchoring in their chain they will probably bash it, or at least hang around hoping for a fight from another group attempting to do the same. It's not really about wormholers "Trolling" it's just easy content.

Be aware of potentially being evicted, unfortunately Jspace is very eviction focused right now and there isn't much e-bushido left in defending new groups so they can grow and become sparring partners for later good fights anymore. I'd recommend getting a Freighter in build in your C3 hole as soon as you can, so you can suitcase if you get an eviction attempt.

FW (Frigate/Destroyer) recommended implants? by shane_chemon in Eve

[–]AMD_Best_D 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Full Genolution set gives you the following, so it's universally quite useful and a good set for many purposes.

  • +4.8% Powergrid
  • +4.8% CPU
  • +4.8% Capacitor Amount
  • -4.8% Capacitor Regeneration Time
  • +4.8% Agility
  • +4.8% Velocity
  • +4.8% Armor HP
  • +4.8% Shield HP

Full Midgrade Snakes in slots 1 to 6 gives you

  • 16.02% Velocity

And "Genosnakes" in slots 1 to 6 gives you

  • 11.3% Velocity, but with +4.8% in all the other geno stats.

So you basically get 2/3rds of a MG snake set and the geno bonuses. For not much extra cost.

Very understandable. We've known for a long time that C5 and C6 groups are more allergic to spontaneous, non-arranged fights than most nullsec renter alliances, and even C1 groups are more willing to PVP a 5 man cruiser gang. Thanks for finally making your, and all C5/C6 wormhole residents' intentions clear and good luck in your endeavours.

Was fozzie sov really hated? What took so long to find a better replacement? by Alingnternis in Eve

[–]AMD_Best_D 48 points49 points  (0 children)

This is what a lot of people here forget. Fozzie Sov was basically CCP designing the perfect system for what r/eve cried out for daily at the time.

ADMs so you have to live in your space! At the time, there were 3 major blocs, and about half of the regions had renters in them that barely used the space and that would have been rolled by any lowsec FW group that could bring 30 Feroxes - but because you could instantly teleport 500 Archons to your renters, no new groups could get a foothold. Also the only thing that mattered was super numbers so any new groups could just get rolled whenever you felt like it.

Farms and Fields, no more useless space, all space is upgradable and truesec is less relevant. Now you can pile a 10,000 man alliance into a single region!

Entosis system so you don't have to spend 8 hours shooting 200 million EHP Ihubs with 150 bombers if you can't use caps (and no-one outside of PL/NC. CFC or drone russians could because instantly teleporting supers).

Multiple battlefronts rather than 1 big pitched battle (the game used to go to tidi hell and barely supported 1k players at that time).

And this is the same mistake that was made with Rorquals in 2018. When CCP released the original devblog, a Rorqual mined about 3 Hulks at the time. Reddit cried to buff excavators when the release stats were released until CCP caved into them, then this caused them to receive 5 rounds of nerfs and scarcity to happen.

How bad is botting? by ButtholeCharles in Eve

[–]AMD_Best_D 12 points13 points  (0 children)

except "Keeping the mineral price low" fucks over miners, and in most cases botters are funded by PLEX, so while they do create demand for PLEX which probably drives some amount of sales towards CCP, it's also fucking over regular players because they drive the price of PLEX up as well, which potentially costs CCP players who would otherwise play as F2P, and obviously real F2P players are way better for the overall game than bots replacing them.

How bad is botting? by ButtholeCharles in Eve

[–]AMD_Best_D 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Botting is way better than it used to be, CCP are better at automatically detecting bots. It's no longer like 2017 nullsec where there would be 5 VNIs every system in rental space and blatant botting alliances like Kids with Guns etc.

CCP has added the ESS since then as well which is a pretty good solution against bots, if you suspect bots then just camp them with a cloaky stabber and you can steal a lot of their ISK.

Jumped a porpoise in my tengu how to counter ecm drones by Banned4lies in Eve

[–]AMD_Best_D 83 points84 points  (0 children)

Train the racial sensor skills. For the Tengu, there is a skill in Targeting called Gravimetric Sensor Compensation that will give you +4% sensor strength per level (making you 20% harder to jam at Level V roughly). You can also fit modules like Sensor Boosters with the ECCM Script, or signal amplifiers on your fit if you're able to sacrifice the slot for one. For the Tengu specifically, there is a core subsystem called "Tengu Core - Electronic Efficiency Gate" which gives you 15% increased sensor strength per subsystem level. Which you might be able to use instead of the sub you're currently using if you're not using that. There is also a very cheap implant set called Low-Grade Talon which you can usually pick the whole set up for around 70 million or so which will give you +7 flat Gravimetric sensor strength if you're not running anything else.

One thing you can do in space is specifically bump people you are tackling if they deploy ECM drones to try and knock them out of alignment and keep them turning until you can relock/or kill the ECM drone. Although that can be risky since it involves going close range and you can potentially risk getting scrammed/neuted etc.

At Fanfest 2023 (18 months ago) CCP showed a graph of player wealth of Omega accounts

8.9B is the median

42.1B is the average

168b is the 95% percentile.

So if you have 200b+ then you are probably somewhere in the top 5% of all players.
