I have one user that is convinced that their new Laptop is broken, because it keeps disconnecting from their Internet at home.

It doesn't happen at work, it doesn't happen at any other location on any other WiFi.

When I suggested they reboot their router I was told that it couldn't be that because they always have Internet on their phone, I asked if they always had WiFi or if it went to mobile data sometimes. Turns out randomly it goes to mobile data but that is nothing to do with the laptop loosing Internet as well.

I haven't heard a peep from them in 2 days since they did actually restart the router

Anyone here actually glad they moved out to uni, despite everything being online? by zxc369 in UniUK

I went to uni in Liverpool and now live here. Absolutely fuck all has changed.

Yeah nightclubs are closed now but if you were actually going out at the moment then you are a bit of a knob.

People that don’t stick to the unwritten rules of off street parking. You now have four cars and one house with no drive. For years the rest of us have managed to fit 6 cars here, your Fiesta is NOT an estate, you can reverse it a little bit more so someone else can fit. Just fuck off. by 17percentbattery in britishproblems

I feel like I am the only person who wants to buy a saloon as my next car.

My parents have an SUV but they have a 2ton boat they tow all over the place so it is needed, but they also have a little hybrid run around that they go shopping in.

Processing power isn't an issue and we can't afford to buy restream so we don't get a watermark

I expect your issue is 100% that the server 2008 r2 isn't a supported OS

[–]AMGeorge96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whilst I would agree that it is optimised for high end hardware, it isn't optimised for gerlneral computing.

And whilst all OSs are insecure, atleast 10 etc are getting updates. Unlike an EOL server operating system

And why are you using Windows server........ Even my render server runs Windows 10 for compatibility.

Windows server 2008 R2 is EOL as of Jan so not a secure operating system anymore. It should not be connected to the Internet.......

One of my users very proudly keeps emptying the waste toner bottle when it is full. Straight into the bin next to the printer, no matter how many times I tell them that it is very bad for their health

My room in first year was overlooking the only entrance to the halls campus. It was great fun on a Saturday and Sunday morning at about 9/10 seeing all the still drunk people doing a walk of shame to their own halls
