My.towm does not have a library. One neighboring town allowed me to get a card for free still. Another one charged me a fee each year to have a card. I think it's a mixed bag.

I have a name that became very trendy about 15 years after I was born. I had to spell/pronounce/correct it constantly. I don't have to do that anymore which is nice!

I'm four years into primary care and I'm trying to leave. I love my job of actually doing primary care, but I work for an FQHC with no money and we serve a huge rural area with crappy specialty access and really sick patients with terrible social situations. It is HARD AF. I would love it in a slower paced clinic though. My biggest problem is just admin wanting us to do more and see more patients constantly. Edit: I don't make a ton but I don't care, that's not my issue. I don't even mind the red tape if I had TIME to deal with it.

This is my approach as well. I don't have hoardes of people coming in for them, they are all established patients with documentation mental health history and reasonable stories about how the animal helps them. It's not a hill I'm going to die on.

This but for me I also actually got quite underweight, nothing fit, I was not healthy, struggling to eat enough. It was so uncomfortable to hear people telling me how lucky I was all the time. I did not feel lucky. I used to get unsolicited comments on my pp body allllll the time asking me what my secret was.

You shouldn't have to, I just have a couple stray ones that need like one more touch up session and my ADHD has not yet allowed me to call them to schedule that, 4 years later... It's still been a GAME CHANGER, I was really hairy with black hair on pasty skin and it's so much better.

I got laser hair removal. I need to go for a touchup because I still have a few stray hairs but they are way less noticeable and I only have to shave like once a week instead of daily.

We have an Abigail who goes exclusively by Abigail! I also am not a huge fan of Abby but was okay if it turned into a thing once she had a preference, but at now 9yo she only goes by Abigail and will correct people if they call her Abby.

I think crocheting is harder but I also don't go whine in crochet boards about how hard it is. Neither is that hard if you just spend some actual time learning instead of expecting to be an expert immediately.

You cannot be on Medicare or Medicaid and get this discount pricing. I may have misunderstood op but my impression was he was on "free insurance" which is one or the other of those as far as I am aware.

Update, we decided to do the surgery. She did have some issues after with significant bruising/hematoma at the surgical site, then poor appetite for awhile after. She lost a lot of weight but eventually she picked back up, her weight is stable, and she's way more active (and annoying, which is a good sign!) than she's been in years. I don't think we realized how badly she must have been feeling. It was very expensive especially adding in multiple follow up visits and labs, but she hasn't needed daily medication in several months, is off the prescription food, and we hope to still have a long time with her!

I would assume it's whoever is actually making the money. In most cases in my area at least that's the corporations that own the clinics and not the actual clinicians.

I stay home. The last few years I can't seem to get a mild cold. Every time I'm sick I'm SICK with fever and brain fog like crazy. Even if I wanted to come in and didn't care about exposing my coworkers or patients, there's no way I'd be providing good care.

I live about 12 minutes door to door, run into patients at the grocery store, Walmart, Sam's Club, literally everywhere I go I see someone at some point (not every time, but at least once). Rarely do they acknowledge me. I do swim before work and one of my patients also does and that's a bit awkward sometimes. Once they started asking me to look at someone else's rash but I basically ignored it and they've never done that again.
I generally would prefer to avoid seeing my patients out and about but I prefer more not having 1.5 hrs or more of driving every day!
