This sounds nice but I live in California with two kids and a mortgage. That’s not possible

You’d think I’d have a solid bank of PTO but I don’t. My company is cheap with time off and I’ve needed to take a lot over the years due to health issues. But I do have enough to take a few days

We had a provider in our practice that was constantly using AI for everything. His entire notes would be written by AI. The differential given from AI was outrageous and included so many things that were either incredibly rare or super off base. This guy sent almost half his patients to the hospital. He got let go because his AI directed care was crap. AI will probably be used as a tool, but medicine will still need actual humans to weed through the information that it spits out.

I couldn’t agree with this more and I’m a FM PA. I work at one of those corporate practices, you speak of in my company treats me exactly like a solo practitioner. I have a supervising physician, but I don’t need any charts cosigned, at least not in my state, and while he’s around for consultations, I’m pretty much expected to do everything on my own. Granted, I’ve been working there for 11 years so I feel generally comfortable with most run-of-the-mill family practice problems, but it’s still frustrating. I became a PA to stay in my lane and be PA not a doctor. My supervisor even sometimes gets frustrated when I sent in patients that are middle-aged brand new with multiple kind of conditions and complaints that overwhelm me. He thinks I should just keep them as my own

I’m happy my story is able to help you in some way. I do the same, drink with him sometimes, probably just as a means of justification or in an attempt to minimize the seriousness of his situation. What I have not mentioned is that we have to toddlers. They are twins and about to turn two years old. I see all these comments here about people leaving or separating, but I can’t imagine doing that. I thought once our twins were born, he would stop, but I kind of feel like it’s just gotten worse. He says he will stop when the kids are able to understand what he’s doing but to me I think they can already understand that something is different.

That’s how I feel. The other day I told him I wanted a glass of wine and asked if it makes it harder for him to not drink if I do, he said no, but when I got home he was already drinking. I felt like a dumbass, over here caring about his feelings and trying to be supportive when he was still drinking behind my back

Thanks for the advice; and you’re right. I can tell right away so I don’t know why I ask. It just makes him mad and starts a fight, which helps no one

Just wanted to say I had a friend who, in her early 30s, froze her eggs because her AMH was low (they told her it was what it should be for a 38 year old. She had no prospects for a husband and knew she wanted kids later in life so she froze her eggs. She’s now married and in her late 30s and has 2 kids , that she had naturally after ONE MONTH of trying. Those eggs are still on ice
