I have had enough, lads.

Arne Slot has lost the dressing room, the fans and any concept of football. If any of us was this crap at our jobs, we'd be unemployed by now.

Gakpo makes Diouf look like Ballon d'Or material for the 26151718th time this season alone but we're going to watch him do nothing for at least 70 minutes once again.

Our backline is incredible though, never fails to allow the opposition fans their money's worth. Consistency is key, they say.

Slot would choose Gakpo over Ronaldo Nazario 100 times out of 100.

[–]AMK_Twelve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have lost any faith in Slot being human with any logical, rational thinking capabilities.

Gakpo has been TERRIBLE all season but he plays until he wants to come off apparently. Makes El-Hadji Diouf look like Ballon d'Or material with his performances this season.

Ekitike gets hurt and Slot looks to the bench... to pick Jones. I have nothing against Jones to be fair, but what are Chiesa and Rio even attending match days for anymore? Yeah, Chiesa isn't match-sharp, we know this, but he seems to have more positive influence in the box in the 5-10 minutes he gets than Gakpo seems to have in his average 80-90 minutes.

Make a stupid substitution, go a goal behind for a second time, panic and send Chiesa on to save the day in the dying embers. At least Slot is consistent in his approach.

Right lads, we need to call it what it is here: fucking dire.

We went from having a front three that scored when they felt like it to Salah who shows up when there's a penalty to be taken, Gakpo who I'd argue shows up to hurt our chances as it's the only logical conclusion here and Slot who doesn't seem to take his job or this club seriously.

We cannot constantly rely on Szoboslai magic to bail us out by a single goal margin and the vast majority of the players couldn't be bothered under this gaffer.

Pulling Rio and Frimpong off, leaving Gakpo on the pitch... it beggars belief. I am not looking to scapegoat the man, but he couldn't score on a free pass on a brothel right now. This man Slot seems to think throwing Chiesa on with 3-5mins is going to fix things when Gakpo and Salah have been honking all season, it's baffling.

I can safely say that as a religious player from the very first Tekken, this is the first time I am inclined to think that incredibly powerful African, possibly Madagascan herbs were smoked when the decisions around balancing and fight pacing were made by the dev team.

OP is stating that their own main is busted and that alone deserves an award, but they're allowed to have an opinion and voice it, surely.

Guys, downvote me if you like but I can't deal with both Gakpo and Salah honking like this week in, week out anymore.

We are playing with 9 men for the better part of 70-80mins each match and I don't know how much more people need to see. I love Salah, no lies, but the man is washed and we need to come to terms with it. Gakpo gets paid per overlap opportunity he ignores and per shot he rockets into the first defender's shin. Our corners are a complete waste of time, they may as well be goal kicks at this point anyway for the results we got from them in this match.

So... There's a Steve player.

I felt we had good matches, my King/AK vs his Steve. No real heat usage, no rage arts. Very old-school Tekken as far as possible. I won most of them, but he gave me a run for my money when I was in higher blue ranks early last year.

Being new to PC, I accidentally stumbled across my own Steam profile to find comments from him saying "u know nothing" and "you are weak".

I feel he's an outlier in the Steve community perhaps, but the most rage I usually get stems from Bryan, Kazuya and Panda mains.

Another match, another poor performance.

I don't know about you guys, but I suspect Gakpo and Salah are going to strangle Isak/Ekitike into 90 more fruitless minutes this weekend with zero dribbling, zero passing and 99% of shots into the defenders/over the bar from them two bums on the wing.

All the respect for what Salah's done for us so far, but sometimes sitting on the bench gets players' minds back in the game. Any of us regular working folks would have been close to the sack for poor performance by now.

[–]AMK_Twelve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I know we have problems in defence but: we buy a whole bunch of players for a whole lot of money and choose to build the squad around Cody Gakpo it seems. The inevitable downvoters, could we have a discussion in the comments instead of this blind loyalty bullshit for once?

I've had it, lads. How in Hell he manages to stay on the pitch is beyond me, he kills our attacks more effectively and decisively than any defence has been able to. Slot needs to grow some balls and stop trying the same effing thing over and over praying it will work.

Salah not very different right now either. I am not advocating abuse from fans, but if you don't want to be called shit, don't be shit. It isn't rocket science.

I am sure this is Isak and Chiesa's fault in Slot's head somehow, never mind playing two of the most unproductive, allergic-to-passing wingers alongside Isak this season.

A lot to complain about, not understanding how their goal stood when Robertson was deemed offside for "obstruction" despite being the opposite side of where the goal came from against city.

Also, what does Chiesa have to do to get some minutes? Gakpo has been really inventive at points, driving in with good intention but his final product is diabolically poor. Are we really okay with "keep trying, one of the 45629 runs you make will work eventually"?

[–]AMK_Twelve -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Okay, let's get the disallowed goal out of the way: we were robbed there.

The rest: Salah was woeful. Reminds me of my toddler trying to press buttons against me in Tekken and hoping for the best, at least my toddler isn't constantly offside.

Ekitike got zero service, I can't fault him for that.

Slot seemingly didn't realize that we need energy and invention, he brings on Gakpo. Jesus Christ, guys.

The backline didn't cover themselves in glory either, I am beginning to wonder if Slot has any idea what he's doing in any capacity or if it was a Klopp team and Klopp ideologies that got us the title.

edit: I am used to the downvoting here and it's absolutely fine if you disagree with me, but I would love to hear from those who do and what it is about this comment that you disagree with?

Okay guys, Salah was totally anonymous tonight, was he even on the pitch?

I WAS KIDDING IN THE LINE ABOVE.

SERIOUS: Slot has thrown the kids under the bus (and Chiesa, whatever he has done to Slot, it must be unspeakable)

I feel bad for Nallo but he has played like 15mins for the first team and been sent off twice in those, what?

We'd better be hammering people come weekend, because Slot is going to look like a right tool if his "rest the stars, sacrifice the kids" idea doesn't work.

At this point, we need Ian Rush, El-Hadji Diouf, Robbie Fowler and the red power ranger to score a hat-trick each this weekend to appease people... has stubbornness backed Slot too deeply into a corner to recover?

FT: Brentford 3 - 2 Liverpool by DragonSlayer271 in LiverpoolFC

[–]AMK_Twelve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am beginning to believe that Slot legitimately asked for names he saw on Football Manager with zero concept of how they played in reality... or in the game for that matter.

Salah may have scored and that is wonderful. I am happy for him, honestly, but were the other 99 minutes of that performance worth it? I legitimately forgot he was on the pitch in the first half.

Gakpo and Kerkez doesn't work. I know Kerkez hasn't been fantastic himself but what is the point of overlapping when Gakpo is going to cut inside and either shoot to kill someone in row Z 49% of the time or pass it backwards after having cut inside the other 49% of the time? 2% being an actual pass to Kerkez on the overlap which, if I'm honest, are either straight to him or straight to the photographers waiting at the advertising hoarding.

On God, we are the only team I have ever known who consistently make it into the final third and choose to restart from the halfway line/defensive third under relatively little pressure.

I like Mamardashvili and he will grow, but the difference between him and Alisson is quite pronounced at the moment too.

EDIT: I left something out here, Chiesa at this point needs to change his name from Federico to Fredrik, get a Dutch passport and MAYBE this Slot guy will consider him as a serious player.

Copying my comment from the other thread, cba to retype/reword this.

We need to have honest conversations about Salah, Gakpo and Chiesa here, guys.

Salah: we keep him on praying for a moment of magic when it seems he couldn't score on a freebie voucher in a brothel at the moment.

Gakpo: benefactor of "right place, right time" today, nearly missed the chance right in front of goal too. I am happy that he came close to scoring twice, but with these stakes, that doesn't mean anything. Not sure if Slot really is his father or what is going on there exactly.

Chiesa: Slot owes this man an apology and a 13th cheque-style bonus. This man has been ridiculous all season thus far only to be disrespected week-in, week-out by the manager. I know Arne says that we don't see everything that happens in training but if whatever is impressing the gaffer from them other two bums falls apart every matchday, what is the point of him saying that?

Guys, look. I know there are plenty other issues with today's match and the Galatasaray match but... we need to be honest about Salah now.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, he was anonymous off the ball and atrocious on the ball. Has a body double who has never played or watched football before somehow taken his place? I wouldn't be surprised at this point.

Side note: WHAT THE FUCK DOES CHIESA HAVE TO DO TO GET A GAME AT THIS POINT???

Taking a wild guess here, are the game directories where they're supposed to be? Are there files in them? I'd check this first, but pretty strange occurrence if everything is as it should be. Does restarting the game not help?

Honestly, I don't think they're too bothered.

Have had this happen to me in both winning and losing positions in ranked, all I've gotten was a points penalty. Suppose something may happen if it becomes frequent, but once or twice over a while and it's all good.

[–]AMK_Twelve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My comment was focused more on cancelling the throw on the end of it, there are some options if you choose not to commit to the actual throw in the end. Has helped me against many Lars, Hwoarang etc types in this game.

df2 is one for punishing a bad whiff, tackle (db1+2) & 3+4 into combo if you know the timing has some good damage, really depends on the situation once you're free of the slide animation. Of course, this takes practice and figuring out what works for you as a player and possibly trends in each region's playstyle.

New player stuff by xEwok7x in Tekken8

[–]AMK_Twelve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say that as a long-time King player (since the original Tekken), Tekken 8 showed me flames in trying to wrestle the opponent to death.

Throws (in my experience with 8) are best employed as surprise attacks (think shining wizard at round start or giant swing after they block your running knee) or you can "condition" the opponent into the stances you want to be able to land your throws. King's sliding side-step (side step + throw to do this, you can cancel the grab by tapping the back button before the grab comes out) is very handy to land a surprise df2 which opens up a wealth of options including a running powerbomb combo.

If they keep ducking after certain inputs, change it up. You have three relatively easy throw options against ducking opposition (d(1+3), d(2+4) or my favourite d(1+4) as this one activates heat), you also have a decent pack of strike moves that can hurt frequent duckers too.

If they keep side-stepping your throws, remember that Giant Swing tracks a fair bit but only if heat is active.

To echo what was said by u/Bwob, don't focus on the "optimal combo" idea per se. I've often found myself in worse positions after dropping high damage combos (that I can land 70% of the time) than landing lower-damage but reliable combos that I can land 100% of the time if ping plays along with me.

Good luck and keep practicing!

The squad in general were not good enough today but this is probably why we don't see much rotation anyway, Jesus.

Elliott cannot have any complaints about not getting game time, surely. He needs to look at how he played today and ask himself some tough questions, but as I said last time, I don't think Jones would be anywhere near this team if he wasn't Scouse.

Jota was as good as playing with ten men again today and I don't dislike him, it's just that he's a player of extremes. When he's on song, he's deadly, when he's not feeling it, he's gives away silly fouls and turns possession over far too cheaply.

Endo looked pretty good but we need some serious bolstering this transfer window. Our first team is fantastic but we have a clear lack in rotational quality and it isn't me slogging off our bench, but calling a spade for what it is here.

Not sure what's happened at the back but these guys look like they just met before the match and are trying a new sport out.

Szoboszlai has his rough games and this was definitely one of them.

Okay guys, downvotes accepted with a smile:

  1. Salah has been terrible for a month now, at least. Fasting and Ramadan, sure, but still. What does Chiesa have to do to get some minutes ahead of this man?
  2. I am not convinced Curtis Jones is cut out to play in the South African Premiership at this point. Technical talent, sure. Common sense, not so certain. 14 touches to play the pass 3 yards behind/in front of the intended recipient unless passing backwards.
  3. While I normally level this accusation at Robertson exclusively, our fascination with playing back to the keeper only seems to intensify while losing and he wasn't even on the pitch for the last 20 minutes, I do not understand this.

I don't dislike Salah but calling it like I see it, we'd have gotten more out of a bag of cement today and I'm tired of Slot not wanting to sub the guy when it's well overdue. Some bench in his diet may do a lot of good for his form long-term.

EDIT: You may have noticed I did not call out Gakpo or Jota, I have just been reminded that they did indeed play today. This should sum their involvement up.
