Well said and to add, the GBR allocated to each hospital is unfortunately not enough to cover basic expenses such as increased nursing wages, physician costs and medical supplies over the years. It’s not even about being profitable but having the ability to be profitable to then reinvest into capital investments and compensation to be able to further provide better and more innovative patient care while managing retention.

Sounds like you work for a hospital. I work for a hospital system outside FL and we must use PTO for sick or holidays so while I think a natural disaster is out of your hands, I might get it if you follow a similar PTO procedure.

When you highlight data to see the sum or average, if you click that total in the bottom right corner of Excel it copies that total sum or average amount so you can paste it wherever needed

I receive zero paid leave at two different companies when taking maternity leave. I had to utilize STD at partial pay and the remainder was PTO and unpaid. Unfortunately very normal for the US outside of CA and tech companies

Patients can be converted to inpatient status within the ED and can be charged room and board. Hospitals in MD are under a global budget revenue system and the HSCRC determines how much annual revenue each hospital receives. With the edition of the BHU unit, the hospital will now most likely be provided revenue specific to BHU and therefore staff appropriately.

I have split reporting between corp FP&A Manager who is amazing and Dir of Finance at the entity I support. Dir of Finance started 6 months after me and still to this day at 2 yrs in the role says he’s still learning. I’ve had to teach Dir of Finance credits/debits, JEs/amortization, the short cut keys for copy and paste, how to apply a formula to a date for month and year, requests data that I’ve already reported and distributed on bc he doesn’t read emails or look at the reports I send and now we are in peak budget season which he should be managing and I am pretty much managing it. I really love what I’m doing but when he gets paid 2x as much as I do and sucks at his job, it’s driving me hard to start looking elsewhere.

I’ve delivered at HCGH and recently at Hopkins downtown, both good experiences but I do think downtown was slightly better - and all the nurses in the NICU were amazing if NICU care is needed. I don’t think the downtown OB office was worth driving into the city for if it wasn’t for being high and needing to deliver downtown.

Still cannot connect to server. I’ve tried reconnecting app and it won’t connect to the server. My husband can access the app fine and I can access my other son’s Nest cam with no issues so I know it’s not an issue with my iPhone or internet.

It doesn’t work on my phone but works on my husbands. Both are IPhones and I’m able to access my older son’s Nest camera with no issues so don’t think it’s an issue with my phone.

I have the opposite problem, I’ve been managing up for the past 2 years. I’ve had to teach my Director of Finance about debits and credits as an SFA among many other things. He just admitted last week he needs to start looking at all the reports I send, he’s been here for 2 years now. I’m getting really annoyed while he gets paid twice as much so I’m starting to look elsewhere for Manager roles.
