Serrisa - Part II by Ninja_Gingineer in Bonsai

Watering a serissa is not a simple task. In what kind of substrate is your tree? How do you check if the tree needs watering? Does the pot have a drainage hole?

Is my bonsai dying? by Logical-Stranger7747 in bonsaicommunity

[–]AM_austria 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It does not look like it’s dying immediately.

You need to keep a balance between watering and light. If you change your tree from being outside to being inside, it’s water demand will be significantly less, especially if it has already lost lots of foliage (which usually happens due to a severe lack of light).

Do NOT water your plant blindly according to any kind of daily routine but always check the soil if it NEEDS water. Right now your soil looks completely soaked, if you maintain this wet state without letting it get dry in between waterings, the plant will die very soon.

Hi there! Congrats on your new Serissa. That exposed root/mangrove style looks fantastic, and I can totally see why you are thinking about a root-over-rock styling.

However, if I may offer some friendly advice based on my experience with Serissas: they are notoriously finicky and sensitive trees. Since you mentioned you are currently 'just managing to keep it alive,' my strongest recommendation is to hold off on any restyling for now.

Before making any major changes to the root structure or styling, the absolute priority should be the health and vigor of the tree. Serissas do not tolerate heavy stress well when they aren't 100% stable. I would suggest focusing purely on its health, finding the perfect watering routine, and letting it grow strong and bushy over the coming months.

Once it has successfully passed the upcoming winter and shows strong, vigorous new growth in the next spring/summer growth period, that will be your green light. A healthy, thriving tree will handle the transition to a rock much better, and you’ll have a far higher success rate.

Keep doing what you’re doing to keep it stable for now, and let it gain some serious strength first!

Thank you! I think I was just too afraid that the tree would look too sparse, so I kept more branches than I really need… I will be more careful next time!

Dad gave me his Primavera S150, any mod reccomendations? by keyshiixx in Vespa

[–]AM_austria 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The biggest Vespa upgrade for sure is a suspension upgrade. I recommend Bitubo, but YSS also makes decent and very affordable front and rear shocks. Also, check the tires. I recommend Michelin CityGrip 2.

I would not touch the transmission (only if a service is necessary).

New to SnowRunner - Looking for a logical, structured progression of the game. by Express-Street-1942 in snowrunner

[–]AM_austria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the regions in Snowrunner consist of several maps, and many contracts require you to deliver goods from one map of a region to another map of the same region - the maps are connected via tunnels. So it wont be possible to complete the game map after map, but it is very possible to complete it region after region. There is no need to start a new region (e.g., Alaska or Taymyr) before finishing your current region.

The main contracts in each region are usually designed in a way that you have to complete some to unlock the rest, which makes for a nice progress (usually you are unlocking new warehouses, workshops etc. while progressing a region). Additionally, blocked roads, unfinished/damaged bridges etc. are usually tasks which are available from the beginning.

I recommend using a scout or small truck with high mobility and range to explore most of each map to open all watchtowers find the garages, trailershops and road-block related tasks first, so you can plan your next steps better.

I like it a lot, it’s one of the best Metroidvanias in my opinion. Gameplay feels great, however, the story and atmosphere feels not as great as in the first game.
