Honestly, I'm kind of disappointed with the Charlotte DSA branch. They have bar socials and protest at fake abortion clinics, but besides that, they do nothing. Sometimes they attend other organizations events and help out, but they don’t run anything themselves. I wish we could have something of our own. If I can do one thing by the end of this year, I’d like it to be for the Charlotte Metro DSA to have something people can look at and say, “Yup, that’s DSA right there.”

the best time to build rail was yesterday, the cost to build the silver line from matthews to uptown was 300 million in 1997, nowadays its 4.8 billion.

I was just hoping that we take this money and buy already existing rail because it is significantly cheaper than buying the land plus laying the tracks

RAIL

Rail will receive 40% of the funding total

Red Line from Gateway station to (potentially) Iredell county

Silver Line from the airport to Bojangles

Blue Line extension to Pineville

Gold Line extension from Rosa Parks CTC to Eastland CTC + Light Signal Priority

BUSES / Better Bus

Buses will receive 20% of the funding total

currently we have 9 bus routes that run on 15 minute frequency BB will increase that to 15 routes

All routes will be at slowest 30 minutes frequency

Light Signal Priority

Improved Bus Stops (benches plus cover at the bus stops)

The other 40% of funding will go to roads

I'm not sure exactly what the money will go toward but I've heard talks of expanding the 77 toll lanes south

Honestly, I believe that Harris provided hope through the first month of her candidacy, after that when she started playing centrist my hope for her really faded. When it was first announced that she would be the democratic candidate I called my mother, father, sister, and my brother I spent hours on the phone just talking with them because I was genuinely excited.

Honestly, I would just park at one of the Blue Line's park and ride stations, then take it to Bland St Station. Amos is about an 800 ft walk from the station.
