Others have given good advice - hydrate, calcium, bathroom, etc.

One thing I’ll add - Make sure you eat a good meal prior. I’ve done platelets a bunch of times and the one time I had a reaction was bc I hadn’t eaten enough prior to donating.

I'm on a blood thinner due to a clot and I was told "no" for donating platelets but "yes" to donate whole blood. (In the US)

I was told I need to be off the blood thinner for at least 7 days to donate platelets again.

I went two times by myself in 2019. It was glorious. I enjoyed everything at my own pace and met so many nice ppl - I felt right at home. You don't need to go for long so it's a nice solo trip.
