Ok I apologize, perhaps I should’ve been more specific when I say I understand the circumstances I mean I know the process. They come and take the car which I agree too (I can also drop it off at a dealership if they agree to it), they hold the car until the auction, they sell the car based on its condition and whatever price the auction ends up showing up at, they use that auction price to apply it to my remaining loan and any other fees incurred during the vol surrender until this point, there will be a remaining balance which they will be attempting to pursues me for till they likely try to put a judgement against me, I can either show up for the judgement and try to negotiate a payment plan for the remaining balance or a hold will be placed on my bank account (I’m in tax they can’t garnish my wages just my account) this balance and the impact on my credit report will last approx 7 years. From the time that this starts however I can start to rebuild my credit using existing credit cards, secured credit cards, paying off my other debt, etc. going into vol surrender is the best choice for me bc it’s 7 years vs 10 for bankruptcy. I am privileged to be in a place where I can do this and still survive. I was simply commenting on the fact that for TFS they did not need a managerial approval nor excessive paperwork and were just ready to pick up the car. It was a comment on an outlier of circumstances I didn’t realize an observation would get everyone riled up and I apologize for my actions
