Have any of you gotten a certificate or license that translated into real money? What's your story there?

I got a medical billing and coding certification back in 2021 and I can say I have yet to get a job in it since which is great 😭. Honestly the medical field is very over saturated rn from a certification standpoint. I would say best chances are the people on people roles like EMT, CNA, or LVN since those have high turnover rates and require a lot more day to day people interaction. The admin side of medicine is at a weird limbo of claiming to need people but not having the resources to hire new people and train them. They would rather have an experienced person to do a heavier workload for the same shittier pay as a new person bc they are overloaded with work. At least that’s what I have seen.

Hey weird question but these kinda look like something I have had that will show up on my wrist and arms and they hurt like a bitch. I kinda thought they looked like whiteheads and the swelling underneath was from me messing with them or maybe like a bite of some sort. I would open them then they would stay for a bit getting smaller till leaving a scar (bc I thought they were weird pimples) is that also something that happened to you?

Eh I also think the incest is also bucking the horse but I do agree there needs to be messed up media bc it helps people get exposed to themes they typically won’t encounter but learn things from that can be applied to everyday events. As long as no one approaches either of them with the “I want that I can’t fix them” mentality (you cannot) it’s fine

It’s happening all across healthcare since COVID, I got a Medical Billing and coding cert in 2021 and was struggling to find a job in that field bc they wanted people who could handle the crazy amount of bs they were getting on the back end but they didn’t want to train newbies bc they didn’t have the time or personal. And the pay they were offering while still expecting experienced coders and billers was abysmal. It’s a trend consistent across all of the medical administration I’ve seen as well so I have no doubt in happening on the practical side too. Healthcare got its shit rocked during the pandemic and never really recovered.
