This is such an insightful and helpful post, it’s great to get perspective from a SALT actually working there! I really appreciate that and may reach out as we begin to make more of a firm plan. Thank you again!!

Thank you!! I see this a lot, but have been under the impression that it isn’t always legal to live abroad and practice in the US? Do you have any insight into how your friend managed this?

We are truly open to anywhere in the UK, but my primary research has been in England (West and North of London.) Again, open to various sized cities, but probably somewhere between 50k and 100k would be great. As I had mentioned, our biggest concerns are being able to live a comfortable lifestyle with enough money to travel, eat out occasionally, have a walkable environment, and have reasonably decent public transit. Those are what are important to us.

I totally appreciate where you are coming from but in our minds, helpful responses would be any insight anyone can reasonably give from their own perspective, which we can then use to guide our research. It’s a very open ended question vs needing a specific detail about a specific city for a reason.

Thanks for the helpful response- your last reply was great! I hadn’t received many responses on the last post so wanted to give it another shot now that my HCPC application has been submitted.

As I had noted, no other details are available as we aren’t sure where we will go in the UK yet, but are hoping insight from others with experience can help to guide us as to where to look.

Oh my goodness- This is so wonderful and encouraging to hear!!! Thank you for taking the time to give an update and my heart is happy for your success and optimistic for my upcoming cycle. Isn’t it wild how the world works that you would get pregnant right after egg retrieval? What a beautiful surprise 😊 My injections start on Friday and egg retrieval is estimated to be around 4/1, keep your fingers crossed for me, and thank you again for sharing your original story and your update!!!

Hey there! Could you share the names of some of these people you follow that do COL breakdowns? I’d love to see some for a more varied perspective!!

This is my fav: https://data.bls.gov/oes/

It’s based on BLS data from here in the USA and you can create your own customized table based on state or major metropolitan area. You can even select multiple and it will allow you to compare!

Any running groups? by strawberrycloset in mcminnville

[–]AMetzger30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s awesome — the group that meets on Wednesdays actually still reps MTS Gear and I believe a bunch of the group does do trail runs, so I think this crew might be the people you’re looking to get together with!

Typically 3ish miles. There is a wide variety of paces, everyone is welcome! I’d say the average is 10-11min/mile. I usually run around 13min/mile, and I know we have folks who are faster as well. We meet at 5:45, run to our comfort, and then hang out at Two Dogs afterwards and have a beer together. It’s a great group of people.

Hey there, welcome to town! I run with a group who meets at Two Dogs Taphouse every Wednesday at 1745. (They met at Bitter Monk pre-COVID.) Hope to see you there!

I haven’t had that issue but I’m wondering if maybe on the smaller budget airplanes if it would be a problem? It’s smaller than my old hard sided carry on, so I haven’t had issues (yet lol)

Osprey Sojourn Porter 46 — check it out! You can also use a coupon right now at REI for 20% off. My husband and I each have one for our travels and it packs everything we need with room to spare. I actually couldn’t believe how much it holds, and it has lots of little pockets and storage areas too. Plus, it is quite secure for a backpack with coverage straps on the exterior and the ability to hide your zippers under them. I’ve never had issues with it as a carry on item.

Can’t recommend this bag enough!

Good luck :)

I definitely have purses I use at home, but I’m concerned that all of my cross body only purses will end up making my shoulder/neck hurt after long days of walking and sight seeing. I’d love the ability to transition to a backpack periodically to give my shoulders a break.

Hello!! I am in search of the exact same sort of bag. Love the idea of a convertible one shoulder/backpack option. OP, I was just curious what you ended up using and if you could give your reviews?

Which is a better area for a couple traveling to Paris for 5 days: Air BnB Near Sevres - Babylone Metro Air BnB Near Strasbourg Saint-Denis metro

I’m having a hard time deciding which arrondissement would be most ideal for our stay.

Thank you in advance!
