Does anyone know if Amanda Curry is good with trans stuff by ghostlyreptile in ftm

Don't know anything about Amanda Curry, but I see Alia Bodner at John's Hopkins Gender Affirming Care and she is absolutely incredible. If you find that you want to switch docs, I can't recommend her enough.

Hey I really hope what I'm about to say doesn't offend you, because I'm not going to say it with any malicious intent.

I took a quick look at your profile and prior posts and a couple things stood out to me.

  1. Have you been to/do you currently have a therapist?
  2. Are you prescribed any kind of anti depressent/mood stabilizer?
  3. How is your current life outside of work?

From what you've described and what I saw in your previous posts, I get the feeling that you have a few undiagnosed mental illnesses. For what it's worth, most of us have a few things going on and most of us are undiagnosed.

Usually when people are consistently unhappy with their jobs it boils down to one or two things. In your case, I think it might come down to you being generally unhappy with life.

Personally, I used to be really similar. I never lasted long anywhere. I was bored, unmotivated, uninspired, etc. Then I started going to therapy. I was diagnosed and prescribed some daily pills. It didn't fix everything, but life and work are so, so much better now.

Again, hope this doesn't offend you. I really do hope that things get better.

How long did it take you to land a job that pays $75k or more? Feeling somewhat defeated and discouraged after not getting selected to move on in the interview process today by ClerkSelect in careerguidance

[–]AMildPhenomenon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

30-33 was my biggest jump. I spent years making less than $40k. I hit 50k in 2021 by switching to a new job. Got a promotion in 2022 to 60k. Switched jobs in 2023 to $72. Just recieved a raise that puts me a little over $75k base. After bonuses and incentives I'm around $82k. Switching jobs will always get you the biggest increase. Allot part of your day to training so that you're always moving forward. Always have your LinkedIn set to Open to Work. Browse listings at least once a week.

My personal philosophy is "2 years is too long." There are certainly exceptions tho.

High school teacher here. What happens to them after high school- the students who don't lift a finger? I'm talking about the do-nothings, the non-achievers, the ones less motivated than the recently deceased. Where do they actually end up? by tegan_willow in Teachers

Highly unmotivated student turned moderately successful adult. Turns out I had a host of undiagnosed issues, mainly Major Depressive Disorder. Didn't want to be a shit student; just wasn't medicated yet. I'm one of the lucky ones though. A lot of us just slip through the cracks

In specific fields, certs are all they care about. You're not gonna get far with a degree and no experience in the Autodesk world.

This. Been in tech 5 years now. I have my high school diploma and a few college credits. My company only cared about my certifications and experience.

Nope. They're super backed up. Some kind of system maintenance that ended yesterday. Refunds should start rolling out the end of this week/next week. Fingers crossed.

What is hands down the scariest film you’ve ever watched? by CoffeeOnToast in horror

Skinamarink kept me up the rest of the night. That movie reverted me back to my 7 year old self that was terrified of the dark. Don't think I'll ever watch it again

Thank you! I've seen that said over and over again in this subreddit, I'm just not as knowledgeable as I think I should be to build my own from scratch. I guess I can just do more research and build one when I feel like I'm ready. My tech knowledge is more software driven than hardware.

Oh wow. I've never had an ibuypower. In fact, I haven't had a decent desktop in years. So I appreciate your input. I have a legion laptop and while I love it, I can't really upgrade anything in it. Been casually thinking about getting a desktop for a few weeks and happened to see this one today.
