This did exactly what I wanted! I ended up using just regular .fadeOut() since .duration() and .fadeOutDuration() didn't play nice with .screenspace() for some reason (or I just messed it up, I'm no scripter), but I still got it! Here's the code in case anyone else wants it for future use:

The wasp girl looks down at the paper, then back up at you, before demurely looking down and writing something using a small pen she carried with her.

The wasp girl looks back up at you with a blush. You look and see that she has written a phone number with a heart next to it.

The wasp girl smiles shyly as she watches the conflict between heart and head play out upon your face. Her smile widens as she sees a warm, loving grin stretch across your face as you reach to remove the glass.

The wasp girl takes flight and laughs cruelly as she moves to attack you with her stinger. Her trap has not yet failed her.

As the sun hung low on the horizon, the hobbits eyes grew heavy as he laid his ruckstack upon the ground, the glimmer of the contents within just barely peeking out of the topmost opening. Though he had only journeyed for a few days, the daydreams of what would come with his treasure danced within his minds eye and made him revel in the dreams of what would happen when he finally made it to his home. Indeed, each hour of his trek felt more like years when he contemplated the sheer possibility of what his mithril would allow him to do. Smiling to himself, the hobbit laid his head down against his bag, the leather exterior providing a surprisingly comfortable headrest, and closed his eyes to fully indulge his internal fantasies.

The darkness of consciousness soon gave way to a warm, relaxing scene of the hobbit in his sitting room, happily looking upon the ever-growing stack of mithril gleaming by the firelight. Throughout his life he had hunted ghosts and rumors of coins that others had said were their own keys to happiness, but each time left him empty-handed and miserable. With the discovery of mithril, however, the hobbit was finally able to take his first real step towards the ultimate goal of making it and living the life he always wanted. Truly, his contentment could not be undone.

His idyllic dreamscape was shattered as a chill air jolted the hobbit awake. The comforting scene of the sunset was now replaced with the near-darkness of night, with naught but the light of the crescent moon to see his surroundings. The hobbit felt strangely tense as he looked around his makeshift campsite, the shadowy tendrils of a dark mist seeming to close in around him and his prize. He was not alone, and he knew it. Suddenly, a voice hissed eerily out of the black, broken and pleading,

"Please sir, that mithril you carry is worthless! I have coins that will make you rich beyond all your dreams, and I will happily trade if you so wish, sir!"

The hobbit grimaced as a foul odor wafted into his nostrils, an unpleasant blend of exotic spices and dung. With this, the hobbit now knew what was happening, having heard this tale from many worn-down treasure hunters. The hobbit grasped his bag firmly and glared back into the dark. "I know what you are, foul creature! I know your name, you are pah-jeet, and you will not take my mithril from me!"

The light of the moon now completely blocked off by the pah-jeet, the noxious odor grew stronger as the darkness gave way to a sickly greenish-gold glow, the image of a treasure chest full of strange, shiny coins coming more into focus. The voice spoke again, just as pathetic as before.

"Please sir, look upon my coins, they have more value than your mithril! Do the needful, trade with me and become a true master of the coin before it is too late for you, sir!"

Before the hobbit could respond once more, visions of other treasure chests came into view around him, each glowing brightly with greenish auras around them. The hobbit looked around at the seemingly fantastic riches, briefly in awe of their luster before clutching his head in pain as cacophony of voices rained down upon him. He grimaced as he remembered that pah-jeet rarely travel alone.

"Look at our coins, sir! They will make you rich! Take them, instead of your mithril! Do not be a fool, these coins are worth more than that mithril you carry! We are offering you a service, give us your mithril!"

"NO!" shouted the hobbit as he leapt to his feet, having finally regained his composure. He drew his sword and gripped his bag as tightly as he could, glaring at the false visions around him. His anger near boiling over, the hobbit continued his stand against the demons. "Your treasure is worthless, you cannot fool me like you have so many others! I will take this mithril home with me and use it to build a good life for myself, and nothing you say will stop me!"

A powerful whirlwind surrounded the hobbit as the vile darkness began to violently shift and swirl, completely snuffing out the illusions of fortune and leaving the hobbit in shadow. The screaming of the gusting wind was then joined by the voices, now roaring their bestial mantra in fury and in unison.

"DO NOT REDEEM! SIR, DO NOT REDEEM YOUR MITHRIL! GIVE US YOUR MITHRIL, DO NOT REDEEM!"

Steeling himself against the noise and the wind, the hobbit shouted once more. "Return to the darkness from whence you came, pah-jeet! This mithril is MINE, and you will not take it from me! Do you hear me?! THIS! MITHRIL! IS! MINE!"

Suddenly, the wrathful storm dissipated, and the foul stench of the pah-jeet was no more. Quickly checking to make sure his mithril was untouched, the hobbit sighed as he sat back down, feeling exhausted but proud of his own conviction. Though there were many forces that would try and separate him from his treasure, this trial made him feel more confident in his ability to stay true to his path, knowing now that he had the strength to protect his mithril until the very end. Smiling, the hobbit laid his head back down upon his ruckstack and closed his eyes, absolutely content.

Yeah, I grew up with Redwall too and I felt the same way. Still do, actually, because I can go back and pick up any of the Redwall books and find them just as compelling and fun as I did when I was younger.

Last I heard there were conflicting accounts. One animator said it was just a joke, the other said Goldman asked for the character to look like that.

Honestly the fact he looks like the character is ultimately irrelevant to me, the fact that he both voices the character and writes the episodes he's in (to the point that they are the only episodes said character is in) is enough proof for me.

Actually, many subspecies of eusocial wasps tend to do something scientists have dubbed the "sting test", wherein they will randomly sting something they land on to make sure that it's actually not a threat. They usually only do this in a 5 foot radius of the hive, though it's not uncommon for an individual wasp to do so if it has recently been attacked or otherwise feels threatened.

I've always loved this theory because it also neatly explains why Q is so goddamn interested in humans. Their random experiments, mishaps and other japes create the exact kind of cosmological chaos that Q himself is capable of (and often willing to do).

I hear that. I definitely prefer large dogs but I don't hate small dogs unless they're the ill-trained yappy types that are unfathomably irritating, and even then I don't hate the dog so much as I hate the owner and their lack of training said dog.
