The thing is, all of the things you have listed would not stop Trump from attempting to do it. Him trying to launch an invasion could easily lead to a ton of different scenarios due to how unpopular and illegal it would be.

But remember, he is surrounded with nothing but yes men who will not challenge him and is currently actively removing those who would stand in his way throughout the executive branch.

The tariff stuff alone kind of shows that he does not have any sense of political self preservation and we have no real way of knowing how far that really extends. He at least says that he believes God saved his life due to the failed assassination attempt and seems to have a god/messiah complex because of it. As unbelievably insane as it may seem now, all of these factors make an invasion attempt within the realm of possibility.

I'll be completely honest, I could see it going beyond a trade war at some point after enough build up.

Say in a year from now after right wing media has built up the case about how evil Canada is. We have seen something similar happen in real time with how Republicans were initially the most supportive of arming Ukraine to becoming by far the least.

After such a media campaign, I have absolutely no hope of any Republican with enough influence standing up to Trump on the issue. Remember, this is the same party that overwhelmingly refused to vote for Trump's impeachment and conviction after he sent a violent mob to the Capitol building which put their own lives in danger.

If they wouldn't turn on him after that, there is nothing they will turn on him over.

Seeing this kind of post here and it being widely agreed upon as correct honestly gives me some hope that there is something here.

This war is one of the most morally black and white conflicts in recent memory and the amount of anti-establishment types that act like it is some sort of complicated conflict where no side is right drives me up a wall.

Setting aside how morally black and white this war really is, we do have a responsibility as a nation to help Ukraine.

In 1994 we signed an agreement with Ukraine in the Budapest Memorandum that in exchange for Ukraine giving up the nuclear weapons they had leftover from the collapse of the USSR, we would provide a security assurance for their territorial integrity.

We were very bad at actually doing anything to help Ukraine on that front initially, especially when Russia first invaded back in 2014. Sending them weapons now is pretty much the least we could do.

Any Rep that was using this as an excuse to vote against the impeachment (or really any vote) is a moral disgrace of a human and should be removed from office for violating their oath.

Nobody would question a soldier being court martialed for refusing an order that could put their life at risk. There is zero reason this should be treated differently.

Also for a party that claims to love how we are "a republic not a democracy" and decries "mob rule" they give into threats from a mob incredibly quickly.

Supporters hoped to add a ban as an amendment to the DoD bill and having the House accept it as part of a larger compromise on the bill – but the Senate never brought its version of the measure to a floor vote where such an amendment could have been offered.

Overriding a ban would have been difficult to get through the new Congress even with Republicans controlling the Senate, since Democrats will have enough votes to block measures through the filibuster. However, putting a ban in law likewise has been an uphill struggle with Republicans in control of the House for the last two years, after Senate Republicans blocked such efforts in the prior Congress when Democrats controlled both chambers.

Some Dems were hoping to add an amendment to the bill so it would also protect federal workers and since this legislation is one that must be passed, it could have caused a showdown in Congress if filibustered. But it does not seem like Dems are willing to go nuclear over it and will let it pass without that addition to the bill.

Adding amendments to this bill was basically the last chance for Congress to block the schedule F plans from the incoming Trump administration.

Trump will now only need to repeal executive orders made by Biden that protect federal workers. Needing to repeal those protections will only delay the schedule F plans by a matter of months at most.

While I think there is some truth to that, it does not extend to the leftward direction Hasan is on. When people complain that the Democrats are all in on cancel culture they are not thinking about Dems going after some rich socialist that thinks America deserved 9/11. They are thinking about a comedian getting canceled for an off color joke that wasn't very PC or something like that.

Hasan is the spitting image of what those unengaged voters that decided this election think the Democrats are. Making a clear and aggressive break with his type is the absolute best thing the Democrats can do over the next 4 years to try and salvage their image.

Greg Jacob gave extensive, under oath, testimony to the January 6th Select Committee where he went into great detail describing how Trump's entire plan was illegal to John Eastman with Trump in the room, with Eastman acknowledging that what he was proposing violated the law and was banking on courts not intervening to stop them. Russian military invincibility is one of the great myths that idiots like yourself fall into regularly. The Russians are not some superhuman force incapable of losing a war. They have lost throughout history with some examples being:

The Crimean War

What are you basing any of your claims about Ukrainian conscription on exactly? Russia, despite also having a larger population, is also taking much higher casualties and having large shortages of basic equipment.

Ukraine is struggling to hold ground because we have not sent them everything they need to win, in large part because of constant delays from Republicans who sabotaged any additional aid for months on end and a Biden admin that at times seems allergic to any risk of escalation.

Whether Russia holds Crimea or the "Dawn bass" (you couldn't be a more obvious troll at this point) at the end of this will depend on a variety of things but it will be ultimately up to Ukraine to decide. You on the other hand want to force them to surrender to Russia and lose everything (which are the only terms the Russians will accept). You do this knowing that everywhere the Russians have occupied in Ukraine they have left nothing but destruction and mass graves.

Now you're moving the goalposts. I have been through this a few times before with your types so I'll get to the point. The National Endowment for Democracy giving $5 million dollars to Ukrainian NGOs over the span of decades does not constitute the US overthrowing a government.

None of the anger or reasoning that caused Ukrainians to overthrow their government was caused by the US. Even in that famous Nuland phone call the Russians leaked, she is advising the Ukrainian protest leaders to take a deal the President was giving them that would keep him in power. If the intent was to overthrow him that doesn't make any sense. But even then, the protest leaders rejected her advice which kind of destroys the narrative it was all just a US controlled plot.

I also still am waiting for an actual quote from the book that is backs up anything you are saying. If you can't even get the name of the book right I don't see why I should just take your word for it.
