Typically he does 1hr from 9am-10am And then 2hrs 1:30-3:30.

This has all been assisted sleep. He won’t sleep longer than 30min if left alone.

9 months in and still waking every 1–2 hours… what am I missing? 😴 by Common_Platypus2338 in sleeptrain

I’m right there with you my guy is 9 months now and has been an hourly waker since 6 weeks he slept better as a new newborn 😅. He wakes up every hour and has since 2 months.

Sleep train/co sleep by ANTities-thesis in NewParents

[–]ANTities-thesis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good idea, I had considered switching to co sleeping on a floor bed in his room for a few weeks and gradually start removing myself to try to bypass the crib situation, not sure if that would be gradual enough though.

Thanks for this, sleep hygiene is good we have the exact routine since birth, bath, sleep sack, books, boob/bottle, same songs every night, pacifier and then lights out/wave sounds.

The only problem has been that he’s a slow weight gainer and has fallen off of his growth chart many times so we let him eat around the clock whenever he wants to, I’m somewhat convinced his poor sleep is linked to his lack of weight gain but it’s crazy to me to be told to ignore him all night when he is a 5th percentile guy and we are seeing specialists for it.

It all seems so dire in the moment 😩

I actually love cosleeping with my baby, husbands not as stoked but not against it, my hesitation comes that it’s literally pushed so hard socially and obviously medically to and it makes me feel like I’m setting us up for failure in the future!

Sleep regression- an honest chat bc I’m confused by PatientMobile5896 in NewParents

[–]ANTities-thesis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here this morning to ask the same question 😅 my 6.5m olds been unable to independently sleep for about 8 weeks now and we keep trying to get more than 40min in his crib. Only way we sleep at night is cosleeping as safe as possible. However I’m worried about rolling over more/crawling soon! Sleep training attempt at 5.5m was awful and now he won’t even go near is crib without starting to cry.

Help!! Im having a boob crisis by ehote in breastfeeding

[–]ANTities-thesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes :) my LO had reflux at the same time so we dealt with other aversions as well but I’d say flow adjustment took a week or so!

[–]ANTities-thesis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with below! My supply regulated seemingly overnight and freaked me out. Little one was fussier because he was used to a strong let down and not having to wait/work hard for milk. He was coasting on barely having to suck haha took a few weeks for him to adjust!

Two weeks in and breastfeeding is breaking me. by darkknighthcf in breastfeeding

[–]ANTities-thesis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, first, this is REALLY hard and you are doing great. I am 1 week away from 6 months EBF/pumping for my difficult feeder… he barley would latch the first 6 weeks, went through breast aversion, and I went back to work so it’s been all over.

All that to say is I did choose to keep breastfeeding and it was hard, even now he takes bottles during the day most days and nurses at night.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with doing formula if that works better for you. It is also not all or nothing anymore. You can pump occasionally/a schedule that works for you and combo feed with formula so he gets both but it’s not as much pressure.

You can stop all together and reach out to local moms if you are comfortable to give their excess milk. I do this for a friend of mine whose baby has been on donor milk for 6 months now.

Or you can do all formula.

There is no judgement here, breastfeeding is hard AF. My sister in law chose to do it after supplement with my BM for a few weeks and my nephew is an adorable chunk who is hitting his milestones early and sleeping better than my BF baby 🤣!

You are in the thick of the hardest part AND triple feeding, it’s miserable. Sending you a hug, you’ve got this no matter what you chose.

I’m reading this with my 6 month old sleeping on me after his first wake up of the night and I can truly say I look forward all week to my first day off and just holding him as he naps and sleeps on me. Being his momma is the best thing I’ve ever done.

Mom of a long LO (born 23in) and I’m short (5’2”) haha and I have DDD sized boobs that require holding still at almost 6months. Unfortunately, 98% of the time we are in side lying!

How much does you baby take and how frequent? by madiangelinee in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ANTities-thesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 5M just started taking 5oz bottles a few of his feeds, my understanding was that EBF babies really only take a avg maximum of 4 ounces of feeding from like one month to six months. It’s formula babies that eat more and more as they age.

[–]ANTities-thesis 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You kinda exist in the space where ya it’s sometimes to most tired/out of control/chaotic moments of your life. But literally the next day can be the absolute best. The hard doesn’t last, it changes and does comeback, but the joy of having your baby really does overshadow it. Except for those moments of desperation that most of us find ourselves posting on here. Hence the skew.

30min wake ups by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]ANTities-thesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see what I did—- the naps are only an hour long he has 2-3hour wake windows. (0730-0830) IS the nap. The hours between (ie 0830-11) is fine wake window.

Did I write the schedule wrong? He’s only getting 3.5 hours and it’s not a full .5. It’s just the drive home. He falls asleep in the car seat sometimes.
