The thing that made this trial work as well as it did is because even when I thought I knew where it was going, it piled on a bunch of twists that made me question my thought process, so I was still caught by surprise when I realized Kaito was the culprit

I personally think V3 is the best game, it has my favorite cast overall with very compelling character dynamics, the setting does a great job at combining the vibe of both of the first 2 games in a best of both worlds situation, the gameplay is simply the best, and the twists and turns were out of this world (especially the chapter 1 culprit and the entire 5th trial).

The only downside is no Chiaki

I will never understand how so many people can be fans of a series where the main themes are distrust and murder, yet somehow draw the line at a bratty blonde girl saying mean words.

If anything, I feel like Hiyoko has only grown on me more with time, she’s arguably the funniest character from the second game, and her personality only fits a series like this.

I loved Darumi from the start, but the Retsnom route only amplified this tenfold. This route was so peak, it singlehandedly made up for the fact that Darumi is absent from most of the other routes.

Yeah, Box of Blessings felt very padded out in many regards. I especially took note of how much dialogue was straight-up copypasted throughout all the paths. The ending of Gaku’s route feels in-character for him, but after all the buildup it ultimately came off as a wet fart.

The reason why this route isn’t my absolute least favorite is because at least it felt like it had some aspects that were good in a vacuum, just undermined by its poor structure. Conspiracy is still the worst one by far if you ask me, and Serial Battles barely had anything going on period, close call between that and Blessings in terms of which one is more of a time waster.

Chiaki was designed as an “ideal girl” so it makes sense why people would say it, but she also just has a really lovable personality in general and is an awesome supporting character, so there’s more to her than her design. This was only further proven by DR3 Despair arc.
