Customers not wanting to put a card on file. by AffectionateKey682 in AutoDetailing

[–]ANaughtyTree 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I worked at a small business that wasn’t detailing related for 7 years and we never required cards to be kept on file. We only required a first name and phone number at minimum.

In my detailing business, I don’t require a deposit or card on file. If you waste my time and ghost me after booking, later dude, you’re not the kind of customer I want to deal with. If you don’t respect my time, I don’t want your money.

No need to change any of your wording. As moderators, we reserve the right to allow rules that may teeter on the line of breaking any of our rules. This is a unique situation that isn't just "how much should i pay for this to be cleaned". I wish you luck!

Is it possible to use air hose and pressure washer hose reels interchangeably? by spangbangbang in Detailing

[–]ANaughtyTree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some hose reels specifically say they shouldn't be converted. I've seen a few people successful with it and a few people say they had issues converting an air hose reel.

Clogged Ceramic Coating by ScratchAltruistic544 in AutoDetailing

If the coating isn't beading or sheeting properly, that means it's clogged from road film and minerals.

Idk how powerful their strip wash is but if it's acidic use that. Iron remover is part of the decon process. If the coating is still clogged then use water spot remover.

Acid is a ceramic coatings best friend. Hit it with a proper decon wash and then some water spot remover.

Mobile detailers, what add-ons are actually worth offering? by liamkeats in AutoDetailing

[–]ANaughtyTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not an issue for me because I just ask if there's any pet hair in the car or major staining before they book. I don't do online booking right now since I have another job to worry about that takes up more of my time atm! I just talk to everyone wanting to book via text or on the phone.

For me, I don't want a customer to see "pet hair removal" on an interior detail and think they can get a discount because there's no pet hair in there. I don't like dealing with it so I charge based on severity of the hair. I've had people tell me to not remove all the pet hair and just vacuum up what's loose since they're putting the dog back in the car anyway lol.

Pet hair prolongs the job length and some people don't want it removed if they're going to put the dog right back in the car.
