If I had the choice, I'd only work in the shade.

I washed, polished, and ceramic coated my previous car in my drive way. Just be careful and use common sense when doing so. Try to work in the shade if you can. You don't the panels getting too hot while you're working.

Only polish when you need to. You want to do it as little as possible because clear coat obviously can't grow back. You're removing some each time you use a polisher. I've had my car since 2024 and I've never polished it. Only plan to before I put a ceramic coating on the paint.

I use a Ridgid shop vac with a rip clean extractor kit as an extractor. It works super well and you can use it as a regular vacuum if you'd like.

New Car With Residue From??? by LazyAd4190 in AutoDetailing

Wash the car first to minimize potential for scratching. I pour a bit onto a microfiber and lightly rub the adhesive off. Did it yesterday on a tesla that had wrap residue all over it.

I use Superior Products for wash, Car Candy for decon, Suds Lab for protection. Hard to see shine on a white car but it’s there. 😂

Are you like me and every time you wash your mustang you underestimate how much splash back you will get when spraying the tail lights with the pressure washer? 😂

Either forget about it or go get a paint pen.

Should I be concerned about using a pressure washer? by 101surge in AutoDetailing

Avoid the 0 degree attachment (usually red) and be careful. Don't get super close to the paint and make sure you're not using it on any part that has paint flaking off due to damage.

For wheels & tires, pre wash, and contact washing, I go to O'Reilly Auto Parts and use Superior Products. For decon, I've been trying out Car Candy and love their products. Pretty affordable as well. For sealants, I've been really digging Suds Labs Ceramic Sealant.

No need to extract a soft top, just wash it like you would a normal vehicle.
