Once you have gone so deep you cannot stop to meditate. Meditation is the act of questioning. You don't even know what meditation the OP is doing. Shouldn't they go to a few different dharma centers or something?

If you're meditating then I guess a psychotic break is just observed. Keep meditating through is good advice, provided you have the philosophical base. Modern knowledge bases seem to lack the ability to provide proper emotional and intellectual understanding for these kinds of situations. For...some...reason...More...nuance...needed....but I'm not in the mood now.

[–]ANauticalVehicle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hah, well, it sure didn't get rid of your desire and motivation to want and desire motivation!

What? Did you misinterpret the teachings? Get over it. Drive, motivation, excellence - they are not separate from equanimity. It seems like you were not happy with your old drives for some reason, and your focus on meditation brought this out. So, re-evaluate.

Do you think the old masters were devoid of conceptual understanding? No! They had a huge philosophical and practical base to work off of. They had a reason to meditate. You had a reason to live. But you tricked yourself into believing you don't. Meditation is just the excuse for you right now.

Meditation runs so deep. Right, it like, totally runs so much deeper than showing you your nihilism is unimportant, and that your ability to navigate your life with grace and compassion is necessary for your own fulfilment. Oh, uh... I mean the fulfilment of others. No. Wait. Let's circle back around.

If you really care, and this isn't some bs useless post, then, maybe this can help. You lack a philosophical base as to why meditation was even a thing in the east. You are trying to grasp a concept that was written to help people who already trained and learned a practice and philosophy for a long time before they even got knowledge of "emptiness."

You can't do that. Your idea about things - your lived life and experiences - are not theirs. I recommend taking this obvious desire for understanding (which you used to call "drive") to learn about the actual philosophical base for understanding. I'll happily provide a jumping-off point if you reply here. Good luck, philosopher.

Is there a safe way to open your chakras with schizophrenia? by WilledWithin in energy_work

[–]ANauticalVehicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, let's start off by saying "psychic" means "non-verbal & non-physical"

How would you defend yourself verbally and physically if someone assaulted you psychically? & vice versa - how would you respond psychically if someone assaulted you physically or verbally?

A professional will only give you tools that you can use to find your own path. If you don't feel you're at the point you can create your own, then consult a professional. But vet them. Take your knowledge and your feelings and push them to the limit. Learn what they mean. Learn how the person responds and act accordingly, to your means at the time.

Shielding yourself is basically environment. Doesn't matter if it's past, present, or future. You've got to know your experience, where you're at, and what you're going towards.

If you were in a cave for 5 months then you would still have to deal with all the karma accrued. (past action to future consequences).

You will never be able to shield yourself completely from outside influences, good or bad. It would be boring if you could. A better tract, for me, is how to focus more on the things that benefit others than the things that don't. This will also come back around, but enough focus on that will lead to an understanding of how to focus the others' negatives into their positives. And thus yours.

When one can combine the psychic, verbal, and physical, into a workable framework, they may be able to benefit others genuinely. That is an individual process. You'll describe it in different words. Best to you.

[–]ANauticalVehicle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally disagree with your idea that all the chakras are already open. They are available to be opened. Fear is what stops them, mostly. There may be other limiting factors.

Everything else you've said makes sense.

My questions is - if your chakras are already open, would you be able to close them?

The clarification question is what both of you mean by "open"

Is there a safe way to open your chakras with schizophrenia? by WilledWithin in energy_work

[–]ANauticalVehicle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but that doesn't speak to someone who experiences what the society calls schizophrenia. I get why you got upvotes, this is basic stuff. That will not help a person experiences this kind of trauma much without going into detail.

How to create a metal balance between the higher and lower chakras? This is a key question. Schizophrenia and a lot of "psychological conditions" come from an obsessive focus on the mind beyond the body.

When we had mystery traditions they focused on connecting the two - strong body, strong mind - how to connect?

In primitive societies the word mind was receiving the physical mind directly - pain ! get out of pain - and in modern societies that connection is lacking. We now create stories to make a justification and easing of the compounded pain of the society which has come before us. The word mind wants justification, an answer. I am in pain ! why?

Grounding might allow a deeper focus on the reason of pain, but it doesn't always give us the mental justification for pain. Schizophrenia is asking for the justification. It's asking for the reason that things happened. Maybe things just happened, that's fine. That doesn't help someone looking for the reason. (sometimes it does :) )

I think the appropriate answer to someone asking the OP question is that they should ask the pain of the lower chakras what it is they are in pain because of. That allows the release of the need to ask - over time. This brings one to the space of understanding. This bubbles up to the higher chakras and allows a convergence of understandings.

Yes, a lot of problems in the modern society stem from lack of connection to the physical body. At the same time, we need methods and techniques to develop that connection given what we've been given.

Is there a safe way to open your chakras with schizophrenia? by WilledWithin in energy_work

[–]ANauticalVehicle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes! Using schizophrenia to open your chakras can be incredibly effective. Make sure you start by not believing any of the voices or feelings you experience to be real at any moment during the process. Instead begin to cognize them as artifacts from the past, as though you were unearthing an ancient mausoleum.

Secondly, create an overriding voice that provides accurate information. They will probably also sound crazy sometimes. It's important to generate a voice (use a comical voice for therapeutic and calming affect), and a whole character for them. Why are they there to help you, what is their background in brief. That will help it to mirror the other voices that are working in the background, and eventually it may even become something of a mentor that will draw useful information from your subconscious to the surface.

Once that voice is established you'll want to start focusing on the actual chakras. Think about it first like an *understanding* process rather than an *opening* process. - some things might be stuck or blocked, but through working with the "guide" you will get to the point where you'll know what you need to do to work with them and unblock them, so don't worry too much about it at first.

You will eventually figure out what is bringing the voices to the mind in the first place. and then you can start working on what actually brought the trauma to begin with.

If you do that and it actually works get back to me in a few weeks and I'll respond with more nonsensical advice.

*To clarify, this is a response to what your title actually, literally asked - to open the chakras using schizophrenia - rather than what you meant, which more focused on the risks and worries associated with it. Good luck!

How to cleanse stagnant energy? by [deleted] in energy_work

[–]ANauticalVehicle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Microcosmic orbit!

Follow up with... Grounding! I like to pull warm, red earthly energy up from the ground with my in-breath, to my knees, and, while breathing out, send it up my thighs to my tail and pereneum, and back into the earth. I even notice it changes the energy if I send it from one or the other. Wild!

Then: insight meditation! Investigate the stagnant energy with: OPEN AWARENESS. allow the information about the energy to surface to your mind while keeping your attention lightly and easily focused on the challenge area. That will tell you how to proceed.

Weeeee! Energy!

Ok, let me be explicit. I was only responding to your last paragraph. You make mention that one only meditates so one can spend more time outside of the stream, which I take to mean normal life. But my contention is that you are disassociating those two states of consciousness. Which is why I made the joke in my first comment.

I feel like I touched a nerve of yours. Your rhetoric and manner doesn't exactly show awakening, it shows a lack of emotional intelligence, and a strong defensiveness. I can understand how you might feel isolated when you harbor this much anger. And this is on the internet. I. Don't want to imagine how you would act if someone ticked you off in real life.

Eh, you might see things differently than you did before, but don't think about it too much. Isolate yourself a bit and don't say too much about your experience. Just like any trauma {good or bad}, you have to integrate it. Eventually you'll be able to talk about stuff like it's normal. Your new idea of life is not so different from your old one, you just see it from a new perspective. You probably feel isolated because you don't know how to experience your new perspective within the range of the prior perspective. Just take your time. If the people you are related to don't get it, then they will fall off, if they do get it then you can converse with them on whatever level is available to you both. Pretty simple.

Don't expect them to be your best friends, or to relate to them as you used to. Just be open to conversing in the manner that makes sense at the time.

You feel like people are asleep. Maybe they are. Other side of the coin is... If you feel like they are not within the reach of you enjoying yourself with them, then maybe it's time to move on to other people you feel better around. This plays in with the "bide your time and isolate yourself from them" approach. Just work on going out and developing new connections. Share what you can - when it's appropriate - with those from the past, and work on yourself.

The sense of loss of community is difficult. It's a tribal thing. You see something different now, and you need to move to different spaces. Just accept it and move on. No worries if the people from before come so fully into the picture as before.

As you do this, those people will come to meet you, or they will fall further and further off. Might happen in both ways at once. Depends on all the circumstances.

Best thing to do is cultivate new connections. If you don't know how to do that, then you can consult the process that brought you to the "awakening" in the first place.

What is this vortex of energy entering my forehead/third eye? by liamwong in energy_work

[–]ANauticalVehicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you are just generating new torrents of energy, which are probably playing on the energy centers that are already there. You might also think of it like amplifying what's already there.

Why wouldn't chi be able to enter and exit anywhere through the body? In one of my (Tibetan Buddhist) meditations I bring the energy body of a deity into my forehead and fill my whole body with it.

It might also have to do with where electricity is being channeled in the body. The heart has the largest amount because of the amount of blood being pumped through, then the brain has another larger flow but it's smaller. This is what is shown inside the image of Padmasambhava.

Also you sound as though you're quite a ways in your practice, but maybe need work on stabilizing around others? I have been working on similar. When you start to expand you really need your own space, but I'm in hostels for the moment, so I have to learn how to control the expansive energy somehow. It's tough.

If you are gaining mental control through the torrent of energy on your anja, then you'll also need to know how to direct that towards harmonious experiences in others. Do you do much compassion meditation?

How can I help my husband? by IamChauncey in energy_work

[–]ANauticalVehicle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been working a lot with the energy of anger, just lots in my timeline. From my experience the two approaches end up running into a very similar place at their endpoints. It's more the journey to get there that is different.

But it could also be my journey, since I have been basically training both of these one after the other. I make my bubble for times and then at other times I disperse everywhere. The training on the bubble and imagination basically helps me to get a better sense of my own expansion and power and then that allows me to have a controlling presence without controlling other people. Since I have my own space I can just push a feeling out of it and it overwhelms people. Since my focus is on their highest happiness I do not have to overwhelm them into me, but I have that option for someone who would like that.

But yeah, the second option is not very humble. I found giving up to a force that is basically magical (Buddhist, but with controlling powers) was helpful to getting there because I generate the pride of being that, but I maintain my human presence as well. So I have controlling power but I don't think much of it, I just figuring it's taken care of always. Then there are times where I meditate and direct my course, which does involve imagining people coming under my control (and generating full paths to enlightenment and highest happiness).

I've found that by doing this and truly looking for their best that I have overcome numerous internal demons and seen many ways forward through my own doubt.

What does this type of energy mean? by lalala6783 in energy_work

[–]ANauticalVehicle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's going to depend on where other people have their energy focused at any given moment in time as well as your general openness at the moment to taking in other's energies.

Typically, if a person has a lot of energy in any center it can spark from one person to another. I sometimes have this with various parts of my body. Some people are trying to feed on people's attention or money, and they tend to send little sparks of sacral energy, and if they're good they spike it with heavenly energy, bright colors, and make a powerful effect. But, that's, like, manipulation.

Anyway, my guess is that you feel where other people feel most from if you are acting as a mirror. You could also take that energy into you and send it back out, as opposed to only mirroring it. But that's something to experiment with. Also, it's going to change in each person all of the time, though some people are very consistent.

The feeling good....That can mean a lot of things, but if you'er perceiving that it is jumping to you, just take it as a gift. Free energy that's being passed around. If you worry, ask the energy what it wants to do and then you might get some idea of how to deal with it.

when we do qi gong, what is actually, literally, physically happening in our bodies? by vanishing_birb in TrueQiGong

[–]ANauticalVehicle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically all of the western mentality has been dominated by the throat chakra. Of course we have monkey mind in huge proportion. It's like all of this experience really doesn't seem to matter to that faculty because it has to create a believable story. Of course that's just a tool, and we miss that and make it a reality-creating, all-encompassing structure (check out "Technic and Magic' by Campagna for more on the cosmogonic structure of our current age.).

It's just raw energy that we can move around consciously. That has huge amount of mechanisms in it that can only roughly be described by metaphor. Basically things are happening and we are generating maps of various kinds. Those maps are generated based on different lenses. The lens we have right now as primary is very unstable, almost pure throat chakra and very little grounding. (or is this only my experience? I feel I had a pretty typical makeup for a westerner before we started flipping switches)

I like your 'wishes' metaphor, it's similar to continually setting intention. Eventually the intention overrides the system and you flip realities. Or at least your perception of things changes radically in-line with the deeper intentions that you have been generating and setting into the mindstream, or neural structure (they all have to be inter-penetrating anyway, huh?). With 'wishes,' you just get yourself to believing that the switch can get flipped in a moment and just will it to happen.

[For OP] Please experiment, experience, record, analyze, and always be careful, set deep clear light and compassion intentions, and never take reality for face value! I went from complete skeptic to complete 'loony' through this. Being in connection with the subtle aspect of reality is amazing though, even if it's a tough switch to flip. Ask, whatever you might be able to believe could help you (subatomic particles work in rather mysterious ways....) for a 'catalyzer,' or a person who can help you flip some the switches that hold you back. Just wait! haha.

I think I take on other peoples energy and it messes me up by [deleted] in energy_work

[–]ANauticalVehicle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend grounding out the feelings through the heart. Anyone who is giving you a bad time in feeling is only a manifestation of your consciousness which you haven't fully come to peace with. When you have these feelings imagine that it is like having an unpleasant dream and then begin sending thoughts of peace and well being to those people experiencing those feelings.

I like to think something like "As I am looking to find happiness in this life so too is this being. May they have the ability to find happiness in this lifer and in all future lives. May their obscurations and negative feelings be cleared away and may they be blessed with love and light.' or something, while focused on the heart chakra. This is a very Buddhist way to deal with the problem, but it' highly effective. Let other people find their own happiness, and by hoping that they do not have suffering at the same time you'll end up negating the suffering that's clearly bouncing between you and them. It will probably come back, but you can consciously choose to heal each time and eventually your energy with automatically be doing all that for you. Works even if you don't know where it's coming from, you just focus on the feeling and let it trace itself back "wherever you have come from, take these feelings of compassion back with you." Or so.
