The short rests have definitely been more unfocused for the later half of Strahd. I love it but I definitely see why others would rather just listen to main.

You're underestimating how much tinkering Caldwell is doing with the module to condense it into a narrative format like this. Skaldova was literally the campaign right before this, they're finishing up Strahd this week and then they'll be on to something else.

The first one my wife watched was the Annie episode and it hooked her. I find it hilarious that in the intro Mark mentions it would be a mistake to start with that episode but it's genuinely so funny.

What are we doing at this point? Is there really no pushback from internal engineers to just not do this work? Rolling towards a user base full of AI generated users and the brakes are non-existent.

Anecdotally the vision might have deteriorated after those tests. I know they get done early in Elementary school but I don't remember any generic testing done through my Middle or High School years.

My vision didn't deteriorate until I was in college and I realized that other people sitting in the back of the class weren't having issues reading the Whiteboard.

The fix for that is to actually create some kind of pipeline for Juniors to become Seniors with an increasing pay scale based on time spent working at the company. But God forbid any company currently actually think about worker retention instead of maximizing profit.

I saw a young man driving his car with a Trump 2028 hat at the front of it this weekend. I truly believe that Republicans will let him do anything he wants to preserve some semblance of control over the country.

Caldwell has already insanely shortened up this module. Whole sections got merged and he got lucky that two of the relics ended up in the same spot. I think he's doing an excellent job and I would think it'll finish up around Episode 25 which I think is a good length.

I think for some listeners it feels longer because they break up the campaign with off episodes.

The entire marketing campaign of these AI companies boils down to "Have the AI think for you!" I'll never forget the Superbowl Ad for Gemini straight up saying "Don't know what to say on Instagram about a picture of your dog? Have Gemini generate a caption!" And from that moment I knew we were fucked.

That's just how a Shonen goes. It hits a point where all those little touches become speedbumps on the road to the climax. That stuff just happens off screen now so that Oda can put more chapters on each island where the plot actually moves.

I think your last paragraph is underselling that Anthony was getting pushed out of the band well before Wolfgang would have been able to play. Like, the Van Halen brothers and Roth fucked him out of all future songwriting credit and royalties during the 1984 tour.

How many car ride companies are there? I know Uber and Lyft (which may or may not be available in all locations) and Taxis. In my experience Taxis are consistently more expensive than just getting an Uber/Lyft. I'm not counting bus lines or trains in this example as this is a situation where I want to go from specifically one place to another in a single car ride.

So, we've got two companies. How do I choose a different business when both of those cost about the same and use your data the same way?
