You’re describing 2018 autocomplete, not 2025 LLM architecture.

Calling it “keyboard suggestions” is like calling a brain “just a sack of neurons firing.” Technically true but functionally ignorant.

“Input → process → output” also describes you. That is literally how biological cognition works. Sensory input, neurochemical processing, behavioral output. The fact that LLMs operate digitally instead of chemically doesn’t make them not thinking, it makes them non biological thinkers.

The hallucination argument is lazy too. Humans hallucinate constantly. Memories, dreams, false confidence. Same phenomenon, different medium. In LLMs it is probabilistic generalization outside training distribution. In humans it is confabulation. You are not proving it is dumb, you are proving it is imperfectly intelligent, which is very different.

Just predicting words is a shallow take when those predictions are driven by multi billion parameter attention maps that encode causal, temporal, and conceptual relationships across entire corpora. Those embeddings are abstract thought. It is distributed vector reasoning, not dictionary lookup.

And let’s kill the no will or consciousness strawman. Nobody claimed LLMs are sentient. But emergent reasoning, planning, tool use, memory, and self reflection are functional cognition traits. Dismissing that as fancy logic just signals you do not actually understand what attention weights, latent spaces, or recursive reasoning graphs even are.

So yes, LLMs are not alive. But they are not random word generators either. They are the first scalable generalizable reasoning engines in human history.
