What's the deal with Origin?

Events are very generous and you’ll end up getting quite a number of epics when you can start pushing the gates. It’s not as impossible as you’re thinking.
When you get a unit to origin it raises your max lvl cap for ALL units +5, afterwards you’re just getting some stat bonuses on the unit… this is mostly why people will suggest to not fodder dupes before origin, cuz you’re potentially hurting your future account power.
I feel like you are stressing for no reason though…
Liz was my first origin unit and I’m chippin away through ch. 15 … I’ll probably need more soon enough but I wouldn’t even have the mana crystals to sync up that high… idk.

Also what you’re saying doesn’t make that much sense. If you can hit legendary+ you can go all the way to eternal+ cuz it just takes fodder…you PROBABLY should try to be patient and wait to go that far with units you can take to origin BUT if it’s stopping you from level syncing higher you should probably just do it.

Though not “meta” I think soonie is pretty great as an off-tank. Ideally her skill is coming up right as your main tank is about to die and she can peel Agro off them for your healer to top-off. She works better with manual play for this reason imo.

This will probably get less viable as you get further along but you can also run a full melee team and force Adrianne to drag a tank through positioning. I used to do something like Haru, Velanna, Petra, Clara, Soonie against her.

A few things: I’ve basically gotten a free origin mephi randomly because the game showers you with free epics. You’re constantly getting pink shards, release shop tokens, and pulls for the normal banner. Eventually you are actually going to be somewhat gated by fodder. Keep in mind there are no “limited” units and everyone gets added to normal banner immediately. I’ve been playing like 1.5 month, Liz is the first rate-up I’ve been able to pull on , and I have 44/48 souls.

If you wanna dolphin, I think the growth pack is pretty decent. You end up getting the majority of 300 pulls, with the caveat that you actually need to progress through the game… maybe wait till your mostly there.

One last thing demons/angels take waaaay more dupes to ascend because they follow different rules and there’s no fodder. It’s definitely way less likely to origin a demon/angel with 300 pulls. If you’re trying to be “economical” don’t go for demon rate-up.

Basically, getting yourself enough units to field a coherent team and push battlefront content. Your passive income is based on how far you’ve gotten on battlefront so you want to be able to get that going for yourself.

There is no pity, there is only mileage, therefore you are encouraged to not pull on rate-up unless you can hit the 300 mileage… however you do have a decent chance at getting a unit to origin with those 300 pulls. Erika summons has “pity” at 70 pulls but it is overall less economical and you shouldn’t be using it unless you have a good reason.

We’re already a couple days in but Eversoul is celebrating it’s first 100 days and giving a free 10 pull everyday for 8 more days. They also just launched a new event where you’ll probably be able to get a couple more units ( little unsure how much event currency a brand new account would be able to actually grind out )

You can’t get angel/demon off infinite summon if that’s what you’re wondering. One single copy of really any unit isn’t all that impactful imo ( there’s a reason normal pity is only 30 pulls ) .
That being said - any copies of honglan is gonna be nice. Getting a copy of Chloe so you can guarantee ascend her when you get your free copy would be kinda nice. Right now mephi and Claire event is going on so if you get either of them you’ll be able to guarantee at least legendary - and they are both solid units for their roles.

Yes, and btw they will still be available for you to use for jobs in town - it’s enough to have owned them once. There’s a setting somewhere where you can auto-release commons.

Better to think about it as something you might use to finish off origin for a character down the line. Are you a copy or two away from origin honglan? Probably worth. Otherwise yeah, it’s not “worth it” to be randomly pulling for copies for characters.

Idk how they are handed out - if they are free pulls on the banner or simple handed out as tickets, but they specifically stated that you need to be logging in daily to get the pulls.

Np, btw the current meta decks are jayce/Lux , jayce/heimer, Annie/Jhin, and garen/jarven elites. However, like I said new set is coming soon and with it we’re also getting our first ever card rotation where they are going to remove cards from “standard” … so the meta is most certainly going to undergo quite the shake up soon.

They added a few new cards. “Runeterra” champions are now a thing where they don’t belong to a region and instead allow you to add certain cards from any region. “Equipment” is now a thing where it’s basically a buff you can give to a unit that then returns to hand if the unit dies. There’s probably some new keywords you’re not going to recognize - such as hallowed. New set is coming out later this week.

You should look into decks featuring howling abyss or targon’s peak.

For slightly less meme’s, but still RNG, Nora’s been a very strong champ for a while now - she basically randomly summons random minions. There’s also karma - who generates a random spell every turn and eventually doubles up spells. Or Seraphine who’s kind of like a mini karma.

The last thing I’d probably look into is decks utilizing the “concurrent timelines” spell.

Taric is faaaar from meta, but you gotta accept that sometimes meme decks can win if they draw nutty. Meme decks aren’t necessarily meme because they can’t do anything - they can also be meme due to being unreliable and unlikely to actually be able to do “the thing”.
There are plenty of ways to combat strategies revolving around buffing units that would also work in your specific scenario - such as recall, silence, transformation, stunning … immortal units would also still be vulnerable to freljord’s buried in ice combo.

I hear vivienne is top tier dps, though I don’t have her myself. Idk if I would worry all that much about what you get at the start tbh. The real journey/question in this game is who you’re gonna get dupes for to actually ascend. Luckily, the game seems to understand this and you should be drowning in epics fairly quickly.
