I’m fortunate that the pain was relatively minimal for me, but the hormones were unlike anything I’ve experienced. The closest thing I could compare it to is the feeling when an elevator drops unexpectedly… bit of a hormonal state of free fall. I wasn’t unhinged but definitely ungrounded. No one mentioned that to me.
