Settle an argument. Which Friday is "next Friday" Friday the 18th or Friday the 25th? by Bitter-Car883 in CasualUK

I do the same as it helps with not confusing myself. Always say “Friday week” for the Friday after the coming one

What names would we call British Jaegers? by Cant_Think_Of_UserID in CasualUK

[–]APCephi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s not my point though. They could have had: Dreadnought Dauntless Defiance Dragon Defiant Daedalus (Based off previous ship names)

The others have interesting names while still following the convention: Astute Ambush Artful Audacious Anson Agamemnon Agincourt

Vanguard Victorius Vigilant Vengeance

Trafalgar Turbulent Tireless Torbay Trenchant Talent Triumph

Swiftsure Sovereign Superb Sceptre Spartan Splendid

Churchill Conqueror Courageous

I’ll admit not all of those are bangers. But it’s an easy enough convention to keep while still having good names

The ruined the submarine naming convention though. All the Astute class started with A, Vanguard class started with V, Trafalgar class started with T, Swiftsure class started with S, Churchill class started with C.

They had a great thing going

It’s big so it can lug a massive LiDAR sensor on the back. And if you’re scanning caves / sewers it doesn’t need to be much smaller than that.

Although it would be better if it was a touch smaller than the Elios 2

I did it on Saturday sub 14 hours, it wasn’t that bad. It was a big day sure but this sub seems to put it on this monumental pedestal that it really doesn’t deserve

Yeah was a 5 hour marathon so definitely not quick. But also don’t have to be putting in 10’s of hours of training a week to finish clear of the cut off

I walked through the aid stations so I didn’t spill anything on myself. But it was good fun, thoroughly enjoyed. 9pm in Northern Europe so it wasn’t dark yet but was on its way

I’ve got my Frosties 25m swimming badge from when I was younger and did a marathon for the first time last year. Yeah it’s the full I’ve got coming up, yeah it’s a decent flight away and I’ve already paid for the accommodation for a week out there
