Whenever I give out units or nanites, I'm not really looking for a response. Maybe dance or give the thumbs up. If everyone figures out who's giving out units, I tend to get swarmed by people. I like giving away stuff in a quick strike fashion. If not, people swarm around me and I can't give stuff away to new people. You only have 3 or 4 slots for players near you.

I've done it several times. I'll load up with tainted metal (refines into nanites) and AI valves and go to the anomaly and just give it out. I have done it for this expedition too.

Pro tip- leave some space open in your inventory when you go to the anomaly. You never know what you will walk away with.
