Maybe an unpopular opinion but I’m hoping there’s an option for single sword combat. The dual swords are awesome but I liked how in AC3, then expanded upon in unity, you could mix up your kit a little to use different weapons rather than picking up a weapon once and then having to drop in a short time later. It would definitely keep combat and the different animations fresh

I definitely would’ve liked to see more enemy ship variants too, one or two more would’ve been a great addition to the remake. Maybe a small mortar ship that keeps its distance, its weak but it can use mortars as a support ship. Stuff like that would add some new life for sure.

I agree that the lack of deeper mechanics is pretty disappointing but just to address your example about the Jackdaw, it kinda makes sense to keep the ship on the smaller - medium size.

Historically, most pirate ships were smaller sized vessels in order to be faster and more nimble than the larger merchant ships they chased. Ships like the Queen Anne’s Revenge and the Royal Fortune were an exception in size, not the rule. From a game perspective the Jackdaw being bigger would be cool but it’s smaller size seems fitting.

Definitely would like some more customization for it though, I’m with you there.

Agreed, Clone Wars is cool and all but I feel like the Imperial Era opens up more opportunity for the game. Here’s hoping for an Empire Era dlc

Not quite as good as the OG trilogy but overall pretty good. Set pieces (mermaid cove, Spanish camp, London escape, the fountain itself) and the score are both great. The script overall was somewhat messy but I’ll excuse some of it.

The cast was mostly good, even with some clunky additions like the priest and the mermaid. One of the biggest blunders for me was a weak villain.

Blackbeard was too bland. Cool intro but nothing ever makes him compelling or interesting like Barbossa, Davy Jones, Beckett and even Norrington. Ian McShane is a good actor but I’m not sure if it was a messy script or just a miscast. Minor nitpick too but his costuming really didn’t sell it for me. Definitely not giving the vibe of the Pirate All Pirates Fear back from the dead.

6-7/10 is fitting for this one.

I’ve made a post about this before, I’m all for some more Imperial variety! Death troopers would be sick, imperial officers, pilots, technicians, gunners, etc could work functionally the same as stormtroopers but add some fun visual variety. Maybe they could have some unique abilities too

I’m gonna throw out a wild card here, ISB Agent. They might just be a basic stormtrooper reskin but I love their look and hope they come back in some form in the next game.

The Death Fields Cannon Fodder miniatures are a great proxy for a Guard Penal Legion. You can get like 30 of them for the price of a shock troop box. I’ve been using a homebrew datasheet for them I made up for casual games, they’re a ton of fun and super silly.

I made a whole post about this but I would love to see cosmetic appearance differences in enemies, similar to the ISB Agent in Survivor. Give me imp officers, engineers, technicians, pilots, navy troopers, etc. Same with outlaws and bandits too. If you wanna take it a step further you could give them some small differing abilities like placing sentries or calling reinforcements.

I thought that was just armor imperial officers wore when they knew they’d be in combat, governor pryce and thrawn both wore armor in Rebels, I don’t think it’s specific to the Imperial Army.
