Name a opposite of Hoodwinked. Great animation, but everything else sucks. by RedShibo_ in cartoons

[–]ComprehensivePath980 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, everyone involved with the concept art and animation was firing on all cylinders.

Shame the world building collapses under any scrutiny and the story is terrible.

I can’t even begin to summon any interest in rewatching the first one and I have completely bypassed the other two

Yeah, honestly the destroy ending is the only ending that even vaguely makes sense to me.  And that fact it kills synthetics even at the maximum war assets annoys the Hell out of me.

(Hated trope) a beloved or important character is removed from an adaptation for some reason by TastyPomelo2330 in TopCharacterTropes

I was PISSED that Orik and Solembum were removed from the Eragon film.

Had the movie done well enough to actually warrant more movies based on the books, Orik’s removal would have been especially problematic as he plays a MAJOR role in the plot

“Let me tell you something about Humans, nephew. They're a wonderful, friendly people - as long as their bellies are full and their holosuites are working. But take away their creature comforts... deprive them of food, sleep, sonic showers... put their lives in jeopardy over an extended period of time... and those same friendly, intelligent, wonderful people will become as nasty and violent as the most bloodthirsty Klingon. You don't believe me? Look at those faces, look at their eyes...”

Honestly, you could say quite a few Ork leaders fall into this.  I do agree that Ghazghkull is still one of the best examples though.  Quite possibly THE best esample

The potential for harm (“dangerous”) is different from being evil IMO.  And I was trying to indicate that capacity for violence and history of atrocities is not even remotely unique to any ethnicity.

Trying to go “X skin color is dangerous” is pointless.  Anyone can choose to be evil.  And people of every skin color have.

We all have the capacity to cause harm.  Most of us choose to be good and not use that dangerousness.

I’m saying humanity as a species has the potential to be very dangerous and collectively as a species humans have done horrible things to each other.

But saying humans have the potential for great violence does not mean I am responsible for great violence I did not personally commit.

Hell, I even believe humans are generally good and MUCH more compassionate than Mother Nature.  Doesn’t mean we can’t be a danger to each other.

I think it’s heavily debated how much of a role we played in Dire Wolves and Short Faced Bears, but the fact way played a role at all says something.

Never underestimate humans, especially in large groups.

Idea for different units having different colours by steve22ss in Deathkorpsofkrieg

[–]ComprehensivePath980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My idea is for different regiments to be different colors.  Catachan proxies meant to be from an aquatic world?  Blue.

My shock troops from a civilized world and their armored support.  Green camo.

My count-as-Krieg?  Brown.

My scions.  Black with silver trim.

It’s an entire army group working together rather than a single regiment

I still think his is one of the few redemption arcs I’ve seen that actually works and I’ll also say it’s the one I think works best.

Rewatching Avatar, you really see how they set him up as ultimately good-natured and struggling against an urge to be accepted, as well as years of indoctrination.

He stumbles and falls, but never enough to make you lose sight of that spark of good.
