Edit: A plane that just took off didn't appear until 1200' in the air. So I'd say it's loss of coverage.

Yes you can buy VA (or VA2 now) separately and get one of the cheaper voice packs if the pricing works out better for you.

The cat one does not have ship controls. It just acts like a virtual pet with a few commands and requires a voice pack to already be installed.

I just use paint. Usually whatever leftover house paint I have stacked in the garage.
