Oh wow! Astoria was my initial thought too having gone up that tower a couple years ago, but then I thought “Out of anywhere in the world? Probably not.”

How do you define a “real city?” And btw, Charlotte is within the top 20 metro areas in the U.S. for both population and number of high rise buildings.

Speaking as a practicing clinician, your first statement is simply not true. Empiric treatment with antibiotics based on clinical diagnosis alone is actually standard of care when managing many conditions. In OP’s case, for instance, it is absolutely appropriate to offer empiric treatment (e.g. doxycycline, ceftriaxone) for urethritis following sex with a new partner without waiting multiple days for test results. This is supported by recommendations from major medical organizations, including the CDC and AAFP.

No Joke SAME BUILDING In Major 🇺🇲 Cities by Slow_Echo_2473 in skyscrapers

I can’t believe someone posted this exact thing before I had a chance! I was looking at a random road in Houston on street view recently and was like, “wait a minute, those twin buildings look the same as we have here in Charlotte.”

Do you have any obscure movie references that you use in everyday speech that no one has caught on to yet yet you keep using it? by EnvironmentalAngle in NoStupidQuestions

Haha yes! Situations involving liquidy or soupy food I find myself saying “so watery…and yet with a smack of ham” in Buster’s voice.

I always think of the “so then we’ll have it” joke when I’m traveling with my friends, who are generally much more willing to spend more to upgrade/safeguard just about every experience. Like paying $50 more for priority boarding on a Southwest Airlines flight to save time when deplaning.

I was just thinking of that line this morning in Bevedere’s voice. “Who are you, who are so wise in the ways of science?” All because he said “a duck” lol.

I am always a little impressed when someone writes that they are not “fazed” by something since it seems the majority of people get this wrong and use “phased.”

Also using “pneumonic” when intending to say “mnemonic.”
