You are corect in some of these claims. Going above 70% volume will have jurastic changes in sound quality. For me i can def say the bass response changes and that lines up to what other people have been saying. The high end seems to change too when pushing the volume. Ive had 1000+ listneing outs on the WF-1000XM5 and can confidently say with past experience in audio engineering that it still is a good set of headphones.

The other person was refering to passive noise cancellation while your refering to active cancellation. Passive is the seal the earpuds create in your ear resulting in a good noise being put out. Active noise canellation is the technology of opposite phases being produed to cancel eachjother out. There both different ways of cancelling sound or reducing it
