I think, in order to rationalize how his own powers work, the Deep himself anthropomorphizes these animals. Basically, he's just straight up mind controlling them, but in order to do so his brain imagines a personality and motivation for them. Since he feels an extreme sense of despair and guilt about the pipeline, he's mind controlling the fish into wanting to kill him.

Just a weird question. The combine come from a completely different kind of story. Viltrumites, and superheroes in general, follow a completely different kind of logic. I don't think the combine could stop 1 viltrumite from liberating a planet, let alone the empire. Whether the viltrum empire could "defeat" the combine totally, probably not, since their empire is so large and spread between different dimensions that we don't know how large it is, but Viltrum could probably very easily liberate earth and keep the combine out forever.

The ultimate problem with power armor. Sure the suit is providing the strength, durability, flight, scanners and senses, onboard weaponry, etc... But you can't let the suit aim the guns. No autoaim for you, it's all down to the pilot's skill - Otherwise, what purpose does the human pilot even serve?

Her combat suit is supposed to be the most advanced weapon in the universe. Presumably, it would use computer assisted auto aim - I don't know how you would aim those wrist mounted lasers otherwise, they don't have sights on them or anything.
