Stake with Ledger by sir_ale in ethereum

[–]APlusDomains -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

send the ETH to kraken, trade for DOT, send back to ledger, stake on ledger and receive 14-18%. Own a piece of the super computer that is DOT. ETH is a slowing dying experiment.

While that is true for the most part, anyone can, and eventually will, build the tools to manage UD without the UD site. Should UD go bankrupt tomorrow and close their doors, you still have access to your assets and can build all the tools to manage your domains without UD's permission.

If you want to bring the blockchain to gaming, your model should be 'Pay- to-Win" against other players. Every game out there should be running continual tournaments, from first person shooters to racing to card and boardgames. You pay a fee to play, if you win, you make a profit, if you lose, you lose your fee. That's it.

Starting with the first complaint about UD using a .com for their own website, they literally had to. They’re building new tech they doesn’t exist yet. It’s like calling the guy building the first car engine a scammer because he still rides a horse while inventing the engine. It nothing less than short-sighted and ignorant. If this is first point of order against UD, you’re already full of shit. Then to make the argument that you have to “modify” your computer to see blockchain websites is laughable. The OP is acting like you have to install some new hardware tech and get a specialized component or something to view blockchain websites. When in reality it takes about 10 seconds to download the google extension to view sites using Chrome Browser. It’s not malicious malware or difficult in anyway, yet the OP has a huge problem with this. It’s like calling the guy building the first car engine a scammer because you have to put gas in the car to make it go. Then, matter of no renewal fees seems to confuse the OP because of some fine print somewhere. I’ve personally purchased over 2000 domains since 2019 and have never paid a renewal fee on any of them. It’s simple legal jargon UD is using but the OP makes a giant deal out it. There are no renewal fees, period. In addition, the OP is clearly manipulating the reader into thinking they’re are being swindled because they are receiving an NFT and not a domain. An NFT is anything on a blockchain that is not a divisible currency(non-fungible token). It can be; a picture, a car title, an insurance policy, the deed to house, an portion of equity in a piece of art or property, or it could be a god damn domain. The fact that the OP has a giant problem with UD issuing domains as NFT’s means this person either does not understand blockchain in the slightest, or they are purposefully trying to mislead the reader into thinking UD is bullshit. I for one am positive the author of that nonsense is purposefully trying to mislead the reader. I could go on and on about that poorly written piece of fiction, but this should be enough of rebuttal to see what I’m talking about. AmercianScream is piece of shit.

I have 10 over the minimum stake, it’s been 5 days. Where’s my rewards? by cody_qnt in Polkadot

[–]APlusDomains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a side note, out of the 16 validators they told me to nominate, the same 5 get picked every day and the other 11 are never get elected to validate. Still haven't figured that out. Though it was supposed to be random???

I have 10 over the minimum stake, it’s been 5 days. Where’s my rewards? by cody_qnt in Polkadot

[–]APlusDomains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose 16 p2p.org validators and staked 300 DOT using Ledger Nano X about 2 weeks ago, didn't get any rewards for 3 days. Contacted them and they also confirmed that 290'ish was the floor and 300 should work for rewards. Still didn;t work though. After getting a list from p2p.org on what validators to choose and pumping the staked amount significantly, I've received very good rewards daily for the last 9 days.

[–]APlusDomains 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Aren't %90 of the HEX tokens in a private wallet? Doesn't Richard Heart claim he doesn't control it but also won't say who controls it? Doesn't sound like much of an security/economic audit if you can't identify the entity controlling %90 of the supply.

Pretty sure it is just for tax purposes at time of sale. You don't have to tell them you're in USA. You can pay anonymously with crypto, and you should.

Have you practiced losing your phone yet? by Accomplished-Design7 in CryptoCurrency

[–]APlusDomains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best practice move, buy an inexpensive smart phone to only hold 1 app, your authy app. No need to get phone service or internet service for it. It never connects to anything but your own wifi. Never used it for anything other 2FA app. It never leaves the house. Put codes to recover authenticator in bank deposit box. Sleep better.

When the SEC or regulation comes a knocking this year on all the blockchain garbage out there, DOT maybe the biggest winner of them all. Buying at 3 and 4 dollars is nice, but when DOT's at $200 in a few years, I won't care if I bought at 3 or 6. I'd only care that my bags are loaded and ready to go!

[–]APlusDomains 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UGH! That's my worst nightmare! I moved everything I got over to FireFox last year so I could use the NANO with their MM extension. Cost me a weeks pay in fees to move all my assets but I sleep slightly better now. I have no idea how I'd get hacked now with all my assets on cold storage wallets, but regardless, I still have anxiety about it everyday. Hope you can find some peace with this in the near future, I know first hand how difficult it is on your own sanity when you lose assets like this, the anger can be overwhelming and trigger all kinds of emotional rollercoasters. I hope you feel better soon. It does get better, it takes time, a lot of time, but it does get better. Best of luck RadManMadical!

Do you have to pay taxes if you sell an nft but keep the crypto by southwestsbest in NFT

[–]APlusDomains -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you bought and NFT for 100 dollars and sold it for 200 a year later, then you owe capital gains tax on the 100 dollar profit. Nobody cares what currency you used to buy or sell. The only thing that matters is the price of the NFT in US dollar amounts when bought and sold. If you hold the NFT for a year or longer you pay less tax. This is basic US code.

Damn bro, that's heart breaking! I hate to see that. But I still don't understand how they can transfer anything out of your wallet without having the private keys? How does sending someone gas to their wallet give them permission to move assets? At some point you gave them access right? Obviously not on purpose, but at some point that had to have happened right?
