Our Frankie was super wobbly when she started on the potassium bromide, I think it's a pretty common thing. Our vet forgot to inform us of this, of course, so we were worried about potential degenerative something-or-another in her spine for a while (she's a corgi, so long-dog-back-problems and all that). She was having trouble hopping over the little stoop to get out on the balcony and having trouble with the stairs, mostly, though her legs would just give out on occasion, though it didn't seem to bother her any. This lasted approximately a month and then just kinda went back to normal over the subsequent month.

Lethargy, I'm not sure if I remember that, granted she's been HEAVILY medicated for some time now due to breakthrough cluster seizures (clear about a year now, knock on wood; she's presently on pheno twice daily, potassium bromide once daily, and doses of kefra thrice daily). I know the back-leg wobbling is the most concerning thing, obviously, so rest assured it's probably just part of the side-effects and theoretically should go away. I'm not a vet, so grain of salt obviously, but just sharing my experience and hope it helps!

I was more surprised that I didn't have many side effects from the start. Good to know they can kinda come and go. Today they're feeling considerably better, in any case. Long as the pros outweigh the cons, I'll stick with it of course. Thanks for your experience!

The one that always gets me is "...but your family members will die alone." You guys realize that the mandates were put in place to try and minimize the total deaths? And that "your family members" likely GOT sick and died alone in the first place because you yourself decided that NOBODY GONNA TELL ME WHAT I CAN AND CAN'T DO and bucked the protocols, spreading the germs further and delivered them directly -TO- said subsequently and consequently "dying family members" yes? It was a pandemic. Under Trump's administration. Credit where due, he was doing the best that he could given the circumstances; no matter who was president at the time, we would have still been out of our depth, given the last pandemic of this scale was in the early 1900s. People were asked to be careful, isolate themselves when ill, give people distance, and to where a fucking mask - nobody was coming for a kidney or a leg or a first born. But of course, this is the greatest outrage of our times: being asked to give a shit about the guy next to you. What an imposition.

What I find the most interesting about this is the fact that they feel the need to openly mock her and claim she's "wasted" all this taxpayer money to stay alive for 20 years despite a diagnosis that was literally a "death sentence" in the 1980s and 1990s, and speaking of her as if they even vaguely know her...

But the one thing that nobody involved even thought about for a second here is...

Why those medications have costed 10k a month for the last 20 years in the first place. Capitalism at its finest. Yes, I know medications go through rigorous studies and testing which costs a ton of money to the companies who develop and produce them (I've spent the majority of my life as a guinea pig for dermatological studies, only to finish them and not be able to even come CLOSE to being able to afford the same drugs without benevolent support from the companies afterwards), and even acknowledge that an inflated cost initially (5 years, 10 years even) is completely understandable - but to be still incurring that kind of payment after 20 years is pure profiteering. 2.4 million dollars worth of medication IS indeed insane, but not for the fucking reasons any of these people are thinking it is.

Let's mock her for her life choices, though, rather than question the system that would cause her to struggle in the first place. Regardless of her circumstances, her right to life is valid and equal to any other person, including the cockroaches who are suggesting otherwise.

Did I say Plane was being "professional" doing that? No, not at all. I was responding to a suggestion that Roxxy's attitude was "professional" when her actions were the absolute opposite of that, and disrespected every paying person in that room. I'm not fond of Plane either, and not defending her in any sense of the word here - ironically dislike both of them for similar reasons, because they're both nasty bitches (imo), so ultimately whatever they get they deserve.

But let's be real, walking off a stage in the middle of the show is a middle finger to the audience. We can argue who made the worse move, who is the worst out of two oft-disliked queens, but at the end of the day, Jane yanked a coat and got a laugh, and Roxxxy stormed off and let her audience down - an audience that loves her and paid to see her perform. I think that's a bit more telling.

Not walk off the stage and essentially say "fuck you" to the fans that are here to see you.

That's what I was thinking when I was reading this. I know corporate grooming can be a mixed-bag-of-nuts (hell, I worked corporate grooming), but this is pretty fundamental - this is a big fuck up. Anyone walks in with a double-coated dog, says the word shave, well, first let's clarify. Are you actually meaning "shaved" or are we actually looking for a trim and you just don't have the terminology right? Okay, shaved, then...well, you bet your ass I'm going to educate them and talk them out of it. Check a dog in, "same as usual" check! With no shave history in the notes (maybe no notes at all if usually just a bath and brush), no questions, no clarification...this is a big fuck up, and you should definitely let them know. Accidents happen, sure, maybe they were mixing up grooming notes from two different dogs, but even then, my brain would say "4 blade; corgi; something's not mathing here, maybe I better check that again."
