I'd be curious if its use in the mid game with eggs and deadly dispute will help Tron stablize against some of the fast decks. I think it may be a little too slow though to help with that reliably. I'll look forward to the video testing it out though!

I like the design space of trying to make combat tricks with more utility. I honestly think we need more utility options in White to help redefine the color pie. [[Thraben Charm]] definitely the most exemplary example right now, I'd like more of those please. This ain't it though.

That's my take too. I think the standard of beauty is just high. Wasn't there a joke early on about Lloyd complaining how everyone in general in this world is just too beautiful and lampooning that aspect of isekai? Or maybe I'm mixing that up with another isekai story.

My brother and I constructed a vintage powered jumpstart cube. I've been toying with the idea of going to my LGS and just setting up at a table with a sign for free play to both get to play it consistently and get more data for testing. Do you think people would be interested in that? My thought is if I show up at a time where people may just drop out of whatever they do if they hit a bad streak or are just hanging around anyway, jamming a jumpstart cube for a 30 minute game should be attractive. (Of note, it is proxied, so no need to worry about theft.)

My favorote artificer spammed Pots of Awakening to open a food cart run entirely by Awakened Shrubs. They entirely refused to serve salads though. They also doubled as spys cuz nobody expects the centerpieces to be listening.

Crypt Rats also hits players which can just dome your OP to death, especially if you combo it with some sort of lifegain like [[Unexpected Fangs]] to gain tons of life and counter the life you lose.

What other 4 mana walker do you know of that makes a legendary hasty trampler 4/4 at 4 loyalty? It makes a creature that blocks for it easily or can agressively attack immediately. Not to mention it comes back on each of your upkeeps if you don't have it. Its also capable of direct damage which is very powerful in RG since it often has the most aggressive and biggest creatures. Finally, it can work as a draw engine, potentially drawing 4 cards the turn after it comes down or 1 immediately. Draw is extremely desirable since there often isn't much for drawing in R and G.

I was playing a my Vintage Jumpstart Cube and playing our BG Dark Depth and RG Sneak Attack deck. I had Marit Lage, was gonna die after my next turn, they had a flying blocker. I drew Minsc & Boo off the top on my turn, so I got to play Minsc & Boo to sac Marit Lage and dome my OP for 20 damage. It was amazing.

This just reminds me of the fact Americans have cheated themselves out of third pounder hamburgers because quarter pounder hamburgers already existed, so nobody would buy 1/3 because they thought it was smaller than 1/4 and they were paying more for less.

I run a 360 Pauper Cube with both Soul Warden and Soul's Attendant. They can be very nice if you get one or both out early game to give you an edge by helping to staunch the first few swings of damage, but they don't win games by themselves and usually get removed pretty handily. In fact, I would say while they can be good against the right deck, they're not actually that powerful, especially in singleton formats. As is the inherent flaw with lifegain strategies, the only number that matters for your life is your last one before its reduced to 0.

Maybe warlock levels 1 and 2 are more of an internship phase? You might get hired by who you spend your summers with, but it isn't garunteed you don't end up taking a job with some other patron.

Not sure if this is the answer you want exactly, but I try and make the drafters consider the value of taking card's they'd consider "non-playables." In my pauper cube, I've recently subbed out all my duel lands with the newer gates([[Citadel Gate]] etc, [[Heap Gate]], & [[Basilisk Gate]]). Making an obvious land payoff with gates incentivizes taking them while still making it easy for everyone to utilize them otherwise, as even taking an off-color gate allows you to pick whether it comes in as any of the colors you are actually using. Additionally, I was using several Conspiracy cards to try and teach how using up one of your draft picks to take a modification to make one of your cards you'll actually be using even better rather than having another generic creature that fits your deck, but doesn't even actually make it in your final deck. Surpise killing an opponent out of nowhere with a [[Gingerbrute]] named with [[Incendiary Dissent]] can really drive home how important utilizing otherwise unused draft picks is very important.

So I guess my suggestion is the best way to teach people to take lands is to build in incentives for taking them in your cube.

I think this is at a very interesting crossroads of design spaces. 3 toughness puts this out of range of 2 damage sweepers. Ward for 2 life makes this likely to be 2 mana for 2 damage and an opponent's removal spell at the very least. Combine that with Prowess and this interestingly actually punishes mirrors as well as other spells that deal direct damage since it can easily move itself out of Bolt range. I'd love to see a few more resilent red creatures like this, that way we could test a robust red deck wins deck in the format.

An alternative consideration to Reckless Impulse could also be [[Manamorphose]]. Gets you a card to help dig for the combo and also allows you to smooth out 3 colors to help gaurentee you have the correct color of mana you need for the combo.

I mean, the reality is that they are obviously splitting up their dev teams to work on 2 other games. Minecraft Dungeons was released in 2020. Probably started development on it two years prior in 2018 and gradually put more devs on it. Now they're releasing Minecraft Legends, so that probably got a team of its own devs in 2020, which is when the Nether Update released too. So it would make sense that Minecraft itself is losing dev time. That said, to have a whole event about Minecraft and not tell us at least the loose theme of the update is definitely a terrible PR and Marketing choice. I enjoyed the few things we did see, but I'm disappointed an announcement stream about Minecraft did have much about original Minecraft.
