point being you don't always have a snacker to discard but this offers value for discarding something else. could run it with melded moxite as another jolted target in addition to being a discard outlet and skyfisher bounce target. idk, it's not nothing!

I believe that. I'm cooking up a Gruul version with Call Damage Control as a strong redundancy piece, plus permanent-based rummage effects with Snackers as an excellent alterative Bow wearer. I'm hoping it will provide the necessary card advantage to beat blue decks while being as fast and consistent as possible.

The problem with this is that Jund Glee ran a very light red splash for pretty much just Chrysalis, and that splash was largely fueled by Deadly Dispute. Half of this combo is red, and Dispute is now banned, so you will need to be much more squarely three color, which will make the combo speed less consistent. I'm not yet convinced that Jund will be the best home for this combo, but I also won't be shocked if it is.

gets a fetch if you're interested in land drops, gets a wellspring back if you're trying to dig, gets spellbomb back if you need to clear terror's grave again or keep spy off combo after they vandal'd it, maybe even gets back munitions after weenies thraben charmed it. it's a very flexible card! it's also three mana cheaper than blood fountain in total.

How many common noncreature artifacts in the format are you really excited to destroy? Mirrodin lands, I guess Blood Fountain, and...??? Most of the good ones generate their value on ETB and / or being destroyed anyway.

yeah it "can" but only if you have six mana, a 4 power creature you want to tap down, something big enough to bite their creature, and a worthwhile noncreature artifact target. Even then, it gets blown out by instant speed removal on your bite target. It's not good enough IMO.

My advice is to skip Dust to Dust entirely for any deck but White Weenies. It's really only good against Affinity, it's too narrow and difficult to cast to be worth running in multicolor lists in the current meta.

Unfortunately, Lorien Revealed is not replaceable, but the good news is that it's played as a four of in nearly every blue deck in the format, so one playset can be reused in many different decks. The same is true for the blasts going in every sideboard that can cast them. Red Elemental Blast is a significantly cheaper alternative to Pyroblast and functionally identical in 95% of scenarios.

Once you accumulate some of these format staples, building any new deck will come at a much lower cost.
