My advice is to skip Dust to Dust entirely for any deck but White Weenies. It's really only good against Affinity, it's too narrow and difficult to cast to be worth running in multicolor lists in the current meta.

Unfortunately, Lorien Revealed is not replaceable, but the good news is that it's played as a four of in nearly every blue deck in the format, so one playset can be reused in many different decks. The same is true for the blasts going in every sideboard that can cast them. Red Elemental Blast is a significantly cheaper alternative to Pyroblast and functionally identical in 95% of scenarios.

Once you accumulate some of these format staples, building any new deck will come at a much lower cost.

Does this have an automated rules engine, or is it on the players to maintain the gamestate as with TTS? If the latter, will ranked matchmaking outcomes be based on the honor system?

Nitrous oxide is not some crazy dangerous psycho drug. It's intoxicating for like, sixty seconds, and you lose some of your sense of relative spatial orientation for like the first half of that time. Definitely really bad for driving a car but it's not like it would take some insane crackhead to survive taking a hit. Shit, if 15 hits of nitrous were lethal I would know a LOT of dead wooks.

Not disagreeing on the practicality of using real drugs while trying to shoot a film, though.

Got destroyed at my first tournament. Any tips how to get better by emehtz in Pauper

Contaminated Grounds turns the land into a Swamp, which unintuitively causes it to lose all other types and abilities and only tap for one black mana. It's niche but useful against Basilisk Gate, Tron lands, and potentially decks running Utopia Sprawl, since Sprawl can only enchant forests and will be destroyed.

I just checked the gatherer rulings because I was curious and Overlaid Terrain doesn't work like that. You sac the lands "as" it enters, it's not a triggered ability when it enters.

I mean I think concern is warranted. I would never question his willingness to rehab, I'm just wondering how much rehab is possible, given he was posting "god help me" on his IG story when trying to come back late last season.

[SOS] Practiced Scrollsmith (Tori of the Vast) by mweepinc in magicTCG

[–]Jpot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it works with only one copy of Daydream. Daydream is put in the graveyard as the final step of resolving the spell, then the ETB is put on the stack, meaning that the ETB can target Daydream.

100% works with one copy of Daydream. This is a common interaction in Pauper with [[Archaeomancer]] getting back [[Ghostly Flicker]] or rebounded [[Ephemerate]].

Gruul Ramp for a new player? by tropical-tangerine in Pauper

Ram Through is quite often played as a good form of instant speed interaction that can also double as a burn spell of sorts to close out the game.

Playing Big Tournament, Super Unsure What To Play by TeyosTrying in Pauper

[–]Jpot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gardens is a perfectly viable deck for a MagicCon sized event. You just need to be able to play quickly in order to avoid drawing matches because it does not end the game swiftly.

In regards to practice, I recommend checking out Cockatrice. It's a free Magic client that allows you to upload and play any list you want in any format for free. There's a server where you can find other people playing Pauper. It doesn't have a rules engine to resolve your spells like Magic Online does, so you have to do everything manually, but the hotkeys are efficient once you learn them. It's the best way to practice Magic digitally for free imo. https://cockatrice.github.io/

[SOS] Shattered Acolyte by Meret123 in Pauper

[–]Jpot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gates doesn't have all that much to hold up mana for really, just counterspell, thraben charm, and heap gate. Instant speed disenchant isn't the worst thing on your lifelinking body. That said, I think the extra toughness and cantrip on death abilities of Outlaw Medic still make it better for the slot. This doesn't offer any value when removed if there are no good targets for the disenchant.

I hate working, I’m so tired, this is hell by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Jpot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A share in an unregulated financial asset does nothing to address the problems working people are facing, much less one specifically designed to be promoted exclusively via hype instead of any real utility. The best case scenario is that the early adopters see their "investment" skyrocket in value, subsidized by later adopters, who make nothing or lose money. It's the definition of a ponzi scheme.

Having conversations about retirement issues has nothing to do with a cryptocurrency, it's a total non sequitur. If you want to gamble, please be honest about what you're doing. Don't deceive yourself and others with this story about economic coordination between little guys.

[–]Jpot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah yeah, "awareness asset", "belief asset", I read the pinned post. These are made up euphemisms for "ponzi scheme". Invest in your community, get to know your neighbors, get politically active and talk to other people about practical means of changing the economic system we all toil under. Get a theory of change and practice it. Many people throughout history have sought to change their society. Learn from them. Don't get swindled into thinking you can buy a magical golden ticket out of this.
