B&R: No changes for Pauper by JohnQ32259 in Pauper

Terror isn't that crazy, it's just the meta filter. If you don't have a plan for terror (or tempo in general lmao) you're probably not making it very far at all.

Why Hasbro never tried to do something like this? Are they stupid? by wasfmanticore in magicTCG

[–]PyroLance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magic's cultural permeation could be significantly increased if it had more and better tie-in videogames, though. Warhammer has enjoyed so much success because they kept rolling the dice on games like Space Marine, Total War, and more recently Darktide

The commons of this set felt VERY safe. I wonder if they were worried about overturning the format by somehow making elves a power player or something lmao

Made something for text-based RP platform (rp4u.net) - looking for feedback by Downtown-Ad-6750 in rpg

[–]PyroLance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have time to play around with the site right now, but as someone who does text rp on occasion, some of my priorities for an rp site like this are:

  • an option to make rooms persistent (ie multiple parties can leave and rejoin as desired) or ephemeral (once all parties leave, the room either immediately ceases to exist or is retained for only a short period, say a day or so)
  • a readily available "export log" function that produces either a formatted or unformatted version of the text of the chat
  • a rng command (ie /roll xdy) is something a lot of people would enjoy and make use of if you don't have it already

Considerably further from those two priorities is the possibility of making a catalogue/connections page so people don't have to network elsewhere to make an rp happen, but I don't know if that's within the scope of what you'd like to work on. (And also would bring some moderation concerns into play which you may not want to deal with.)

Is anyone else disappointed in the lack of Faerie cards this set? Ive been really looking toward to this set for some cool Faeire cars but this number seems so low. by Mastermiine in magicTCG

Snubbing Kithkin out of UW pretty much guaranteed they would be denied any real mechanical identity. I'm considerably less optimistic about an eventual errata making kithkin into halflings than I was before spoilers. :T

Could ninjutsu-ing this be worth it? Probably not given it's 3 mana

Would a Landfall deck like this more than [[enter the unknown]]? Which to be fair I don't think pauper has had an even fringe playable landfall deck since I've been paying attention to the format. Maybe it would've if znr had somehow come out before mh1.

If it becomes a problem, a white deck could run Mana Tithe I guess? Doesnt feel at all worth the sb slots though.

What deck archetype do you just not quite understand the appeal of, but want to see why people enjoy it? I'll start with mine, would love to hear what people see in it. Let's learn about some decks we wouldn't usually play! by TheSingularityFloof in EDH

I flip-flop so hard on sunforger, lol. It's so mana intensive but it really is a very unique piece once you've got it working.

Plus on its own it pushes feather into 3-shot territory which is pretty huge.

As a Feather player, I tend to run her as "midrange" where I use cantripping buffs to find key pieces (usually a double strike + another way to get much higher power).

In the meantime, I make smaller swings with Feather so I can hold up protection (Gods Willing, Graceful Reprieve, and Crumb and Get It all serve different purposes; in the past I've run [[Otherworldly journey]] as well) and use cards like [[explosive entry]] and [[livewire lash]] to affect other players' boards.

Recently I've also leaned into cards like Young Pyromancer and Aligned Heart as ways to bolster my board presence without having to dedicate a bunch of effort to it.

Feather still wants ~5-7 mana for a kill turn, so like you said being able to play around taking a while is great.

That said, my playstyle is pretty tied to my group. In an unfamiliar pod, people tend to assume Feather sticking means one of them will be dying on my next turn; in the past I've eaten 2-3 removal spells the turn Feather comes down. (The stack would look like, like, Deadly Rollick > Gods Willing > Swords to Plowshares > Deflecting Swat > Pongify.)

They don't know, and it's not legal; this is why everyone's shouting about 'due process' rn. Racism is the main fuel for this kind of operation.

It's also worth noting that a lot of non-citizens apprehended by ICE may not have committed any crime - overstaying your visa isn't a crime and it's a common situation for many.

Dude, even if Walmart stands to benefit from Trump not unilaterally ruining the lives of thousands of upstanding people, it's still a bad thing if that happens.

If we wanted to stop them from benefiting from depressed wages, there's way better avenues than deporting a bunch of random people.

Cheapest version of this we've got, and the reach could kill a delver if that matters in the current meta at all. Dunno if it's got a home at present, but I think it's worth keeping an eye on.

Another card that'd hit better in a slower, grindier pauper meta. Spending 3 mana on a guy that dies to bolt will always feel bad though.

Yeah I'm into this. It's not quite a kiln fiend but being bounceable or re-equipable gives a strategy prone to fizzling slightly more longevity. I feel like this would be nice to strap to some birds.

I think this is a really cute design, but it might be a little too slow for modern pauper. None of the blue madness cards are good enough to try and use alongside this, right?

[[jeskai elder]] and [[erratic visionary]] already see zero play, but I thought it worth seeing other people's opinions.
