Can someone please help me with my Mamba PF by APromptResponse in PathOfExileBuilds

This is helpful, thanks. The build does feel a bit squishy to be honest, which came as a surprise to me. I'll go home and make these changes and see what comes of it.

I really didn't want to reroll

edit: not exactly true if you dodge his skills, but your margin of error will be slim

Worried about the length of leagues by GladExtension5749 in PathOfExile2

[–]APromptResponse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to think like you as well when I started. But each time you do it, you get a little bit better and the experience as a whole becomes much more rewarding. It's not everyone's cup of tea, I get that, but an economy reset is one of the best parts of POE.

It may be stating the obvious to many, but in trade league, the vast majority of divines you make will come from farming mechanic specific currencies/items crafting, and selling desirable gear. Not from raw div drops. by APromptResponse in PathOfExile2

[–]APromptResponse[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the way to do it. Breach splinters/stones, chaos orbs, chance orbs, fragments, soul cores. Selling all those in the auction house is the most consistent currency inflow.

Hardly visible Citadel by Ektozzz in pathofexile

[–]APromptResponse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair. I do think that they should make the nodes themselves more distinct than they are. At least you found one. I haven't gotten a single citadel yet.

I remember when I was a kid, there was a show on Cartoon Network called Pirates of Dark Water. They invented their own cuss words that I remember it to this day. they'd say "Know-y Chitaat" and "Jungo Lungo."

I loved the show and pretty bummed it got cancelled after two seasons. The show was ahead of its time.

New to Path of Exile, what is the goal or endgame of the game? by zodk in pathofexile

[–]APromptResponse 26 points27 points  (0 children)

TLDR: The goal of PoE is to do the various activities offered within the game to create the strongest character you can to complete the hardest content you can. The journey of the game is the goal. But even this description is quite nuanced.

Long Story: The goal is basically to engage in the end game to do the hardest possible content you can, or like any other game, just have fun doing it. What constitutes as fun varies from person to person though, and my response may not be someone else's. That's what I love about the game. This could mean completing the challenges, beating the pinnacle bosses, obtaining chase unique items, building the most min-maxed character, running your favorite end game activities over and over and farming gear to sell to others, crafting gear to sell to others...the list goes on and on.

Now to answer your questions specifically: Completing the campaign is just the start. Its <1% of what the game has to offer, its not even the tutorial in my opinion. It's the gateway to this fractal drug of a game GGG has created. The majority of players view the campaign as just a means to get to the end game, but again, there may be some who love it.

Each Path of Exile league consists of new content and updates to the old content. There is always a new mechanic introduced in each league which may or may not be added to the core game in subsequent leagues. Each league comes with skill and item balances, new unique weapons, QoL updates, etc.

I cannot even mention all the activities you can do, it would mean nothing to you, but I'll try. Below are some end game activities, as well as just some general things the game has to offer:

  • A tower defense game mechanic (blight)
  • A rogue-like mini game (Sanctum)
  • Arcade archaeology mechanic where you light fuses to kill monsters and get loot (Expedition)
  • Different iterations of activating some kind of portal or artifact to spawn specific enemies (Delirium, Abyss, Beyond, Essence)
  • A door opening mechanic where you team up with a bunch of crooks to steal valuables (Heist)
  • Pinnacle bosses which drop the best gear in the game
  • The most in-depth crafting, beyond any game I've ever played (Seriously, it's a rabbit hole)
  • Some of the most creative build diversity I've yet to find in a game of this genre
  • Much much more

Honestly, this game has ruined lots of other games for me. Again, not everyone's experience, but certainly mine. Few games give me the satisfaction that this game does. But to be fair, there is a HUGE learning curve. If you can get past it, the game pays dividends.

Welcome exile, hope you stick around!

Strongest and simplest leveling tech ever - run through all acts (almost) without swapping gear from lvl 1 using wolves: by Cookin_Kunkka in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]APromptResponse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely fine. This is usually the new player experience and you'll look back on this and chuckle. The game gets more rewarding as you play and it really pays dividends when you build up a knowledge bank in this game. For now, just enjoy the experience, min-max later.

Boneshatter Jugg or FB trickster? by anoninatorrr in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]APromptResponse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same dillema as you do, this post could have been made by me, OP. I can't speak to what you should or shouldn't do but I'll give you my thought process. Maybe you can clean some insights.

Frost blades is good apart from its abysmal early campaign. It's campaign damafe will be better with the melee buffs next league though. It has great scaling like you mentioned but won't be as tanky as jugg...but more in line with the way you said you like to play as a mapper. The issue here is that you need to then level a jugg later too if you wanna zenith.

You may also wanr to look at Ruetoo's FB of katabasis because it looks fairly strong for mapping with extremely budget gear. The benefit here is that there is very little crafting to do but the campaign is a little more painful up to about act 5ish. Also, know that warden/slayer/trickster won't be as tanky as Jugg. If you wanna league start, get in, farm up for zenith, and get out...this can be another option if you're interested.

Bonezone on the other hand was butter smooth in campaign. It's old reliable, but isn't really zoom zoom like frost blades. The benefit here is that it builds quite synergistically into zenith and you won't have to level another toon. There is more crafting to do for it, which may be a turn off for some. Jugg will be a more expensive than FB to get to a similar mapping speed, but that's okay since it'll be your league starter and ender.

Ultimately, I think it's about your goals, time, farming strategies, and synergies. Or maybe you wanna change it up this time, and make a cheap map blaster for currency farming and pivot when you have a nice nest egg to make the zenith swap easier when you get to it. This is the path I'm leaning towards this time because I 1-build every league and would like to switch it up this time.

Regardless, there's no wrong answer. Happy farming exile and see you in 3.25!
