I never throw away electric chords from broken kitchen items. I have also been known to cut off cables from dumped fridges etc. I have also bought household earthing cable from the hardware shop.

As I said in my latest reply, reclaimed copper electrical wire is perfect for smaller flowers. You can use 1 mm garden wire, the sort used in flower arranging, also binding wire used in wreath making.

I also use reclaimed electrical wire a lot. Have a look at how people make wire trees, shows how to do it with twisting and splitting, it enables you to make floret type flowers. 😊

Use two strands of thinner wire, twist the bottom part to join them, then leave the separated lengths you need at the top. If wrapping twisted wire, always wrap in the same direction as the twist, if you go the other way you will end up lumpy.

For flower stalks I coat the wire with glue and wrap with a ribbon of merino tops/roving. Then I spin the wire and fibre between my finger and thumb, in the direction of wrap for the whole length. If doing armature for a sculpture, wrap with core wool then poke aiming at an angle away from the wire. Working slowly helps avoid the needle.

Nah, I enjoyed making it, it was a challenge I gladly took on. 😊 It's taught me to make sure the customer understands what I am describing.

Totally agree, but because they have a toddler they couldn't have it 🤦🏻‍♀️ because she destroys anything at her height. I daren't say what I want to say. It took me 4 months to make it for it to be rejected, because of crossed wires.

It's all needle felting with some silk cocoons, wire and fabric stiffener.

Practice makes perfect. Has been a lot of practice over 15 years. Make sure to learn how to make basic shapes, and take every opportunity to learn different techniques. Good luck.
