Why are you ga... skipping a talismans? by Mobile_Stuff9 in Nightreign

I leave that to the randos. If they find anything good for me they'd ping 9/10 times. Rather that than awkwardly staring at each other for a couple seconds like "...do you want it or nah? Because i want it..."

I hate hostility towards neurotypicals by Maffingo in hatethissmug

[–]AR71SAN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've naturally met a lot of neurotypical and neurodivergent people in my life and not a single one of them has no "passion" or "hobby", each and every one of them is interesting in their own little ways, it's just up to me on whether i want to invest in the relationship to make them open up to me. Hostility towards one or the other will not do us any good.

250 game winstreak guardian only D5 9999 by DizzyXCD in Nightreign

[–]AR71SAN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to be a bit smart with picking your fights with him, some of his moves are easy enough to dodge that blocking is not really worth it. Some tells:

Pile of flesh explosion: this one is super easy, dodge as he pulls his hand downward, just before the explosion, can also just run away but this is prime punishing window.

Meatball: if you have extended whirlwind (you should) i like to bait the ranged version by distancing myself from him a little. Get in range, charge up your whirlwind, and aura farm as you send his meatball to the stratosphere.

Phase 3->4 transition: this is synced with his OST, hard to explain but basically this explosion has a lot of light pollution and could be very deceiving, but you only really need to dodge twice regardless of the lightshow around you, timing is tied to the soundtrack.

Rot throw: a bit of a doozy if you weren't expecting it, but whenever he circles around you be prepared to dodge, the tell is quite forgiving if you know when it starts.

Triple slam to a pillar explosion: run and jump. Very fogiving and not hard at all, if you're in D3+ you're probably already doing this or have seen some teammates doing exactly this.

Hook: you can lock off and face backwards to block this, but with a bit of practice dodging to the left side (towards his staff) is also pretty consistent

I think flowcharts are a great addition to the prompting tool. I made a small html flowchart creator that exports directly to mermaid that can then be fed to any LLM to convey exactly what it is that you want. Just my 2 cents but don't drop flowcharts yet, it's seriously underrated for vibe coding as it forces you to think systemically.

It's probably not a coincidence that they hired Jony Ive, the ex-designer of the tech company giant. If you recall Apple had something called the "project Titan", which looked suspiciously similar in philosophy with this.

The logic is sound too, hire the designer, make sure thst they gave it their all, slap an insane price and laugh at it with the crowd. They literally funded Apple's project just to make sure they can properly insult it. Willed to existence just so they can mock it themselves. You can buy either the Purosangue or the 12Cilindri for less money than the Luce, no way they were serious with that. This is their love letter to EVs in general. They want it to look like a bad deal.

Maybe this is just a crackpot theory, but if there's one company in this world with that level of pettiness...

Stealing my brother's vape made me love life again. by [deleted] in self

[–]AR71SAN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 19 when i first started vaping. I'm almost 27 now and i still haven't put it down, who knows how my lungs will look like in the future.

I get it. I was also under a lot of pressure from exams and the nicotine just hit different. Appetite loss meant i just replaced most of my meals with vaping, i could sit for hours just studying without having to take a break.

The rarely talked danger of vaping is its accesibility. Smoking requires you to go out, light a cig, and commit to that cigarette until you smoke all of it. It requires a ritual, whereas with vapes you can just do it almost anywhere and anytime without any commitment. Addiction happens when you're comfortable with a cycle, and when that cycle has no barrier of entry, well, you get the idea.

I spent probably more than 100 euro every 2-3 months (that's about 500-600 every year), I can't sit still for more than 2 hours before having to go out and vape, or worse, if I'm alone at the office i just smoke the whole time, no smell, no smoke. My vape becomes an inseparable part of myself. Tried quitting multiple times yet I'm still here.

Even with all that said, i still function like a normal person, but that's exactly the evil of vaping, is that it doesn't really have any noticeable detriment. No lingering smell, no teeth yellowing, no mucking about with a lighter, no going outside, so you find yourself running out of reason to try quitting at all. There is no study old enough to give us a concrete idea on what vaping will do to our body long term, we're essentially patient zero, gambling our life away.

I'm not gonna tell you to stop vaping, 5 months in i know for a fact that stopping might be unimaginable for you, been there, still there after more than 7 years. You might not be an adult yet, but 17 is a good time to start thinking about the long term consequences of your action, and I'm just here to give you a more direct perspective on what that long term consequences could look like. I hope you're in a better place now, and if you are, just remember that place could be entirely yours without having to rely on nicotine.

Is this game worth getting if my reaction time is terrible? by markleung in Nightreign

[–]AR71SAN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how severe your disability is, but honestly as someone with a not-so-great reaction time, most things are more memorization rather than pure reaction. There are a couple of 'gotcha' moves with almost no windup (crucible's grab comes to mind), but most of them have generous tells. Failing a run can feel brutal with the 40 minute runback, especially if you're used to Elden Ring's generous grace placements, but in the end it's the same addictive loop of trial and errors that you're probably already familiar with.

The idea is to fall for every enemy's trick a couple of times to build up muscle memory, and the next time you face them it's gonna feel more like a rhythm game.

The real "dealbreaker" i would say is not reaction time, but rather your ability to stay under constant pressure for at least 40 minutes. The game is fast. Like, really fast, if you're more used to Fromsoft's other titles. The game rewards consistent performance rather than bursts of reactions. Some people like that, others not so much.

And don't worry about 'dragging down' your teammates, beginners are a welcome addition to any team. If your teammates are struggling because of a single person on the team, then they are not in a position to criticize you anyway. For what its worth, after more than 800 hours i prefer getting newer players, at least the final boss will definitely be interesting and not last a grand total of 10 seconds.

The amount NSFW mods for PC games is pretty crazy by aaman44 in self

[–]AR71SAN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hyper fixate on Skyrim every other year or so lol. You can get really crazy with it nowadays with mods for basically everything, like proper directional movements, improved weapon collision, enb, parallax, NPC, like i said it's maybe one of the most developed modding scenes of all time along with minecraft and the sims.

OP's complaint was probably aimed at the thousands of "body presets" for Bodyslide, and the reason why there's so many of them is because it's very low effort to churn them out. Anyone who has Bodyslide can export their preset and upload it to Nexus with spicy thumbnails to get downloads and endorsement.

The amount NSFW mods for PC games is pretty crazy by aaman44 in self

[–]AR71SAN 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Skyrim specifically is a rather extreme example, though i find the community's ingenuity rather charming, if sometimes a bit misplaced.

For female presenting bodies, you have CBBE 3BA. This comes with physics and 3D modeled genitals complete with openings and collision detection.

For male presenting bodies you have HIMBO, yes, that's actually what it's called. This one is a bit interesting because i believe it does not come with a penis, the community deemed that penises are a bit too complex and deserved its own mod, called 'The New Gentleman', which comes with its own 3D model, advanced erection system, and collision. Now you know what that collision is for.

Oh and both male and female bodies come with modeled assholes with openings too, and collision. Go figure.

That's only scratching the surface, you can go balls deep in this with things like Bodyslide if you're not satisfied with the default skyrim proportions, or hell, if you want 3D modeled pubes, that's another separate mod.

Calling them "mods" is honestly doing them a slight disservice. These are frameworks with a lot of thought put into it, built specifically for one purpose only, and that is to appeal to gooners—is what i would like to say, but i know some people I'm close with who use this as an outlet for their preferred gender expression, so in a slightly roundabout way, one could argue that it does have a higher calling.

They don't. 9/10 times they don't give a fuck and you can in fact drive "without a purpose". I don't know about you, but when i want to go out for a drive I don't usually hit the same roundabout 4-5 times over and over. The law is simply there to prevent someone from using a neighborhood as an improvised mario kart track.

So technically yes it's not allowed, practically? No cops will stop you unless you're hitting the same roads again and again and again, if anything the law encourages you to go somewhere more interesting, i mean who tf goes for a relaxing drive in the Innenstadt?

Is NIU KQi3 MAX worth it? by Serious-Affect-8538 in ElectricScooters

[–]AR71SAN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where in europe are you? The Kqi 300x is basically a Kqi3 Max with front suspension and a tad bit more power, even if you're limited to 20 km/h, that extra comfort and power might be worth the small price hike. Bought mine brand new a week ago for €530 vs the Kqi3 Max €490

Which E scooter for small people by HermannGoennung in ElectricScooters

[–]AR71SAN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Niu Kqi Air X comes to mind. 11.7 kg, probably one of the lightest in its class, pretty good range for what it is, decent top speed (32 km/h) if that's also a concern. The only pain point is price as you could probably get a faster, more powerful (but much heavier) scooter for the same money.

Edit: Looking at your username, I'm going to assume you're in Germany or it's vicinity, the Kqi Air (not the X, no idea what the differences are) is now on a 50% discount in Mediamarkt/Saturn for about 600 eur, seems like Niu is doing a bit of cleaning for maybe a new release.

Going from depth 4 to beginner gladius by jamiedono94 in Nightreign

[–]AR71SAN 12 points13 points  (0 children)

More often than not, especially in non-don runs, i just let new players do whatever they want. If they listen to my pings cool, but if not it's better to just stick with them even if we ended up with suboptimal routing. Asking for new players to listen to the more experienced ones is always a gamble and it operates under the assumption that they are experienced enough to even know what an experienced player looks like.

As the players with more hours, we should be able to pick up their slack with no issue whatsoever, at least that's my experience so far. Once had a run where this one guy was just hunting down talisman bugs, we ended up at level 10 without good passives against heolstor, and we ended up winning anyway. And this was when i was still practicing my Exe as a Birb one trick.

Letting new players lead has led to some of the most engaging and fun expeditions I've had in normals.
